I am completely torn between a classic tiffany style knife edge solitaire and a 2mm pave solitaire. My boyfriend of 5 years and I have just started looking at rings and we are shopping for a 1.4-1.5 carat round diamond. I think we are set on size of the diamond, but I cannot make up my mind about the setting. He says he will get whichever one I prefer, so its really my call. I am a size 5, so i think the diamond will be the focal point regardless of the setting, but every time we have gone looking at settings I just end up confusing myself. I always thought I wanted a setting with pave 3/4th of the way down, but I really liked the knife edge setting too.
How did you decide on your setting? Also would appreciate any pictures of knife edge settings with eternity bands and pave setting with matching bands. TIA for the help.
