Ok so I'm going crazy here. As many if you knew I got a great deal on a used Cartier trinity over the summer. The post office lost it, there was no insurance so I'm out a ring and quite a few hundred dollars.
I'm still bummed but despite talking to literally anyone and everyone in the USPS, I hold out no hope for it ever showing up. Although it could be like one of those movies and when I'm dead it gets delivered to my grandchildren!!!

I digress, a week or so ago I was on a Cartier site, not sure mobile or full and I saw a ring that was a trinity, but the skinny one. It said request price.... So I did. I got this email back, it's "only" $800. but the link won't take me to the ring and the sites I'm looking at don't show it again.

Can any of you super sleuths find the ring for me again, so I can talk DH into it as a birthday gift???
I know I can call them but I need a picture for the hubs.

Thanks

I'm new, and not helpful with your Cartier question, but have to ask, if the seller didn't pay for insurance how are you on the hook for the loss?

This won't find it exactly but might help, Google search of "Trinity" on the Cartier site

https://www.google.com/search?as_q=Trinity&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cartier.us%2Fcollections%2Fjewelry&as_occt=any&safe=images&tbs=&as_filetype=&as_rights=

I've been googling the heck out of it, but because I've only got my IPad to work with Cartier refuses to show me the full site;(
As for the original EBay ring, it was delivered to me, I was sending it to Cartier in NYC for a polish and replate the white gold.
The mailing without insurance was on my side( not my fault though)

This is the 1.5mm "super skinny" is what I call it!! I've seen it IRL and tried it on when I was in LV but do not have a pic of it. When all 3 are rolled together, it is very slim and elegant!! easy to stack with lots of diamond rings... oh... was that part of your plan??? :naughty:

Hope you can convince your DH!!

(and good luck in that contest! I voted for you!)

[CLAPPING HANDS SIGN][CLAPPING HANDS SIGN][CLAPPING HANDS SIGN][CLAPPING HANDS SIGN][CLAPPING HANDS SIGN][CLAPPING HANDS SIGN][CLAPPING HANDS SIGN]yes! that's it!! My IPad would not let me find it. I'll print the page and put it under his pillow so he thinks the idea came to him in a dream!!
Yes I plan on putting with my 5 stone or whatever other friends will fit!

Thanks for the vote, but it was not to be. Another contestant managed to rack up over 300 votes in the last 24 hours. Good for her!!
It was very gratifying to see/ read all my friends wonderful comments.
That 6 degrees of separation thing is real... One of my friends here, is actually friends with a girl I went to HS with! They met in nursing school. We reconnected when my friend in FL shared the story on her feed and my old HS friend recognized me!! Cue the It's a small world music!!

Re: Help me find this ring!

I have that ring. It's the perfect width for stacking, though as a standalone, I feel it's too thin.

The big day is 10-10 so he better get cracking.
I thinking it will look really good with my 5 stone.
Do you think the bands are thick enough for engraving inside?
I would love each of the 3 kids names.

Gee - less than 2 weeks away!!! I hope the subliminal 'sleep on this' messages are working!! LOL!!! IMO, those are pretty thin - but I guess if they can stamp their details/markings on the inside, they can engrave as well... but I don't know for sure.

I had big plans to engrave my 3 kids birthdays inside each of the 3 bands as well, but was told be 2 different Cartier SA's that they only engrave on the YG band. Oh... odd... and I've had my preloved 2.9mm ring for 3+ months now and have done nothing about the engraving!!

Re: Help me find this ring!

Funny about the engraving, because when I sent the lost ring to Cartier, I had spoken to a SA by phone who said I could get the bands of that ring engraved. She said when the ring arrived the store would call to discuss the treatments my ring would need, like polish re rhodium etc. to get approval to proceed ( and payment I suppose) she said I could request the engraving then.

As for the future birthday gift....
I sent the DH the link and am leaving it to him. He hasn't asked for other suggestions so I've got my fingers crossed he took the hint.

I'm not too worried about the engraving really, I think getting DH to actually get the ring will be enough. Not that he doesn't buy me stuff, he does, this is out of his comfort zone I think. The closest Cartier is a very small store and I told him they probably won't have it. So phone ordering is the only option and he is really a more see it -buy it guy. So, actually having to speak to someone on the phone and not click boxes and fill in spaces online is a biggie for him!
Getting engraving on one or more bands won't happen:)

Actually that's the plan, so perfect!! I'm planning on wearing with my RG trellis 5 stone.
Thanks:)

Re: Help me find this ring!

So he took the bait.. And called Cartier today and was told.... That ring, the super skinny Trinity, the one they quoted me at $800.. The one that they said I should call and order is NOT MADE to be sold in the US. But if he wanted to he could order it and it would be custom made and take 3months!!!
I gotta say, I'm kinda intrigued. Imagine semi- custom Cartier? But now I'm re thinking the size, yes I want to wear it with my 5 stone, and it would be perfect, but the 2.9 mm one looked good alone.
Decisions decisions. What would PS do???
