Help me find a big fat cushion please?

I almost pulled the trigger on the private party purchase of a fat little cushion brilliant today but the seller and I were not on the same page after a PS appraiser weighed in. :(2

So now I’m on the hunt and I need help! I get sooooo overwhelmed by all the choices and parameters. Here’s what I’m looking for:

Budget 25k (but less is good too :lol:)
Size 2.5 - 3+
Ratio of 1 is preferred but 1.1 might be ok
Color D to H (I’m pretty color sensitive)
Symmetry very good or better
Clarity VS2 or better
Fluor is OK with me...dare I say preferred? I actually think a blue glow in the sun is pretty nifty.

Other likes:
maximize face up size
I prefer large chunky facets
Modern or antique

Dislikes:
the Jerusalem cross shape in the center of the August cushions
large cutlets
helipad tables
crushed ice

I have one on hold through Ritani right now but won’t have actual photos of it until tomorrow or Friday...

Not terrible but a bit 'crushed ice' or window-y at tilt angles:

Another flat top! but VS2 is pretty hard to see and has chunky facets with not too much windowing/crushed ice at tilt angles:

Thanks for suggesting the PS stone, but I’d like to stay away from a private party sale for such a large purchase.

Not trying to pressure you at all one way or the other, but for what it's worth this isn't a private sale. It's on consignment with Love Affair Diamonds (LAD) for this exact reason (most people aren't comfortable spending so much from anyone except a vendor). Just FYI!
 
@Keeliamira have you reached out to Adam @oldworlddiamonds? If anyone can find you a gorgeous cushion within budget he can IMO. He has both modern and antique cushions and a wonderful inventory to boot.

Sorry, one more update. It appears the diamond needs to be repolished, so at the moment I'm not sure what the appropriate pricing is and whether I'm going to have it repolished myself and then regraded.

Leaving this thread open for anyone who has questions at the moment; I will update once I get things figured out.

+1 to this - you'd have all the protection of buying from LAD (and could add further protection by purchasing with a Credit Card that offers Payment Protection) and it hits your biggest size preference (which I think you will struggle to do otherwise) while also being definitely colourless in an F, and VS2 or SI1, it has no visible impact on the stone, from what I can see!


EDIT: cross-posted with the post above (because I'm slow lol) - in that case, I think still consider it but find out how things pan out!

I’ve been in contact with SandyK and she is absolutely lovely. I’ve also been in touch with Adam with OWD. Cross your fingers for me! I’m not wedded, no pun intended, to “bigger”, I just want to find a stone I love that tics all the boxes. Any other contenders are certainly welcome too. :mrgreen2:

Can you upload to youtube? Then you can share it via the youtube link. I do it directly from my phone and there is a youtube app on my phone that makes is easy enough for even me to do and believe me I am hopeless with technology so if I can do it you can too.

Alternatively if this is on IG you can link us there.

I would like to see it in daylight no artificial light and any other lighting situation you find yourself in on a regular basis so you can get an idea of how it performs. Also ask for a few different videos showing more views and a profile shot too. I would like to see it slowed down a bit too. To get an idea of the performance and are the facets on/off in a pleasing way and is the lighting across the stone fairly even. In the video it looks pretty good to my eye.
Since you cannot see it in person I would want as many videos of it in action that you want to see to get a good idea of how it performs. Nothing takes place of seeing it in person of course.

I really appreciate vendors who are willing to send the stones to you for evaluation so you can see its real life performance. Nothing takes the place of that. But videos are a help for sure.
What is their return policy?

No brainer then for me. He will bend over backwards for you so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I would ask for it to be sent to you especially if Adam says it is a winner.:appl:
 
He says it’s a winner. I really like it. I just have to figure out what I can sell quickly to make up the small difference between what hubby says is my top budget and Adam’s price :lol:

If Adam says a stone is a winner then you can be confident it is a winner. See it with your own eyes and see if it isn't worth the difference.

My only hesitation on this is that it’s a GIA K and I’m color sensitive. I’m hoping the color from the side view is not a big deal when he send more videos on Monday.
