Help me decide on a solitaire setting at BGD!

I was fortunate to be able to upgrade my ring with the proceeds from the sale of my OEC. I am upgrading from a .97 E SI2 (6.4mm) to a 1.48 I SI1 (7.3mm) with BGD using their upgrade policy.

Unfortunately my Grace setting cannot be reused for the new stone, so I thought I would get something different. I have always loved the truth head, and am considering the following settings in platinum:

Truth Classic: half round cathedral with truth head

Melanie: soft knife edge cathedral with truth head

New Truth: half round shank, truth head

and, finally, the setting I had before, which is the Grace

Thoughts on the settings mentioned above?

I like the modern lines of the Grace, the low setting. It is a tiny bit plain though.

I like the truth classic. The profile is pretty open so you can see the side of your stone, and the mini-cathedral sides will help keep the head from sticking straight out from the shank. Keep us posted.

Well I am no help at all because I love all three truth head solitaires you posted links to! You really can't go wrong with any of those. Tough choice! I absolutely love the simplicity of the New Truth solitaire, but the swoopy cathedral of the Classic Truth is so beautiful. And the rounded cathedral of the Melanie is very elegant. So yeah....no help at all!

Your new stone is absolutely stunning, I cannot wait to see what you choose and see photos!!

Of the ones you chose, the truth classic gets my vote. That said, have you considered the Elegance? It's my personal favorite and would look fantastic with a 1.5 carat stone.

Yes, Gypsy, I originally had the Elegance on my list. I think it is gorgeous as well. The open gallery and the graceful cathedral arms are so well, elegant! I had ruled it out as I liked the truth head alot, however of all the settings, I like the arms on Elegance the most. They are the most graceful. Might put it back on the short list.

Another stunning setting I considered was the Eternal Grace, which looks alot like the Vatche Caroline. I decided against the Eternal Grace because I'm woried about loosing melee.

I decided on the Truth Classic in Platinum. I think it will complement my stone very well. I liked the simple profile with the lovely detail in the head. I've been reading all the solitaire threads and have gotten so much inspiration from them! In the end I chose the one that captured my heart in the first place.

Plus, I saved a bit of my budget on this one. That leaves me with a bit that I can set aside for a band or a reset of my three stone. I have my eye on the crossed three stone trellis in plat. for my birthday next year.
