Help me chose a setting metal for repurposing my diamonds

I have just upgraded my diamond for an important Anniversary. Now, I have a Three Stone Ring and an Anniversary Band that I no longer wear. I am considering having them made into a pendant and matching earrings. However, I don't know if Platinum or White Gold should be the way to go. As an aside, my one earlobe sort of turns to the side (I know, my mother would say, "at least you have an earlobe"-guilt) and the hole for the wire or post is sort of droopy given the heavy earrings I wore as a child (well, I am still a child) That makes me concerned about the weight of platinum. Does anyone have suggestions or experience in this?

Well, I did research on this forum and almost overwhelmingly the trend is toward WG for earrings due to the weight. However, can you have the earrings made in WG and then have the pendant and necklace to match in Platinum?

The earrings will be so far away from the necklace I think if you really wanted them in two different metals, no one would notice. :)

Thanks, I thought that may be the case, but, it is always helpful to hear an another person make that statement. :appl:
