Looks like you chose a terrific diamond and I love that classic setting! Good luck with your proposal (and by the way I''m over 50 and I''ve never heard that song!).

I''ve never heard of the song either...maybe we don''t sing songs about Catalina on the east coast or something!

Beautiful ring! That is one of my very favorite settings! Please come back and post hand shots on Show Me the Ring next week!

Eileen lookin' good at Lovers' Cove (wasn't planning to do it there...didn't even know such a place existed...we went for a walk...ended up in Lovers' Cove...I though to myself, 'This must be the place!')

Beautiful couple - beautiful ring! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Hey Jason... congratulations!

Are you in the southern california area? I''m looking for a reputable jeweler here but don''t know of any. Would it be possible to get the name of the person you worked with? Many thanks!!

If you''re ever out here on the east coast visiting please make it a point to stop by so we can do some lunch here.

Warmest regards,

I'm no help there...I bought the stone from Good Old Gold and the ring is a SuperbCert. They are both 3000 miles away. I have never dealt with a jewler in California.

I bet you say that to a lot of people...never expecting to see them.

But Eileen''s father lives in Smithtown (but we both grew up in Chicago)! I''d love to see the store and chat some time. So I''ll let you know when we are headed out there next time.

Jason - Was there ever any concern buying the stone from one vendor and having it set by another? One vendor I spoke to highly discouraged this because if the stone was damaged in the setting process, neither vendor would assume responsibility. That kind of freaked me out.

No there was not. But then Barry (at SuperbCert) never said anything like that to me. I was sort of just assuming that he would not break the diamond. And it never crossed my mind but I would have assumed he would take responsability if he broke the stone - although I do not know this for a fact as it never came up. But I certainly would not have bought a ring from a jewler who told me, ''If I break the diamond it''s your fault''

Oh, I misunderstood your post and assumed the "RockDoc" was a local jeweler. As Cutey stated, I thought you might have seen the diamond first before getting it set. Thank you anyway!

BTW, it''s a beautiful ring... congratulations!
