Hello everyone!
This is my first post here and I’ve found this page extremely helpful during the search for my ering solitaire stone! I’ve found this .65 Gia cert triple x linked below.

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...k-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4621694

It scored a 1.8 on the hca is that too high? My first stone was a cushion cut but it was cut too deep so it looked smaller. I want to make sure I don’t make the same mistake twice. Also this
stone will be getting set in a 6 prong knife edge solitaire. My previous stone was a j color and the tint did t bother me but this one is k but with medium blue flour. The yellow tint won’t be too noticeable from the top will it? I figured the 6 prongs will also help bounce light around to make it a little brighter and whiter or should I look for another stone?

Also if you’ve read this far and are a size 7 with a similar rig can you post a picture? Thanks for all the help!!

I like diamond's appearance.

You can ask the IS image to check for any light leakage, but I do not see anything alarming in the video.
Also, note that the GIA report is from Nov 2017 and the SKU# reflects that. I am not too sure if this was purchased before and returned for upgrade, or has been sitting in supplier's inventory for that long.

Personally, and very personally, I do not buy any diamond with such old diamond report, because you simply do not know what could have happened to the stone during the last 16 months. Having that said, JA is a reputable vendor and should be able to check for any damage. But, I just don't.

I like the stone too...you could request an Aset as flyingpig mentioned. Also, ask JA to have the stone looked at by their gemologist to make sure
there is no damage to the stone. If you were not color sensitive to your J cushion cut there is a good chance (IMO) that the K will have better light
return and should look brighter (being a round brilliant). Good news, if you dont like the stone for any reason you can return it.

Edit...HCA is an up/down selection tool. Stones that score under 2 are worth a further look. Over 2
may be worth a further look with the right tools (IMO). But in general, for a new Pricescoper, we
say reject over 2.

A nice looking stone if you are OK with the K color.

I went ahead and purchased it I also requested that their Gemologists give it a good look before mounting as well. They didn’t have an IS on file for this stone so I requested one be taken when they received the stone. Thank you for the great information!

As far as light return this is the .66 cushion I referred to earlier.

I was told it faced up smart than a .5 RB. I’m
Still learning about diamonds but when mounted do you think there will be a noticeable difference in size? Here it is on my finger as well if it helps.

Yes, the one you bought will be noticeably bigger. It's a large jump from 4.7mm (in your cushion) to 5.5 in the round. We usually tell people that .2mm is when you begin to notice differences, and yours is .8 bigger! will for sure look bigger.

I asked their Gemologists to take a look at it I did however have to purchase it first because it wasn’t a diamond they had in house. I also requested the IS so hopefully it looks as good IRL as it does on paper! Thanks for your help and pointing out the GIA cert date possible problems I’ll keep that in mind for my next stone purchase!

YES you will have a noticeable difference. Here is your cushion and the new RB stone on a size 7 finger with a 2mm band. Big difference!

Yes, the new round stone will be noticeably larger. Here's a visual to give you an idea. Based on the measurements, the round stone faces up 21% larger than your previous cushion.

Cushions of the same carat weight do usually face up smaller than there equivalent round brilliant because cushions
are usually cut deeper than round brilliants. As you can see from @farrahlyn's and @ac117's post, its a nice size bump and I think
it will be noticeable. Let us know what you think when you get it...post some pictures.

I am curious what do you consider old for a report? Like greater than 6 months?

Thank you for this comparison it helped me visualize it on my finger! I’ll definitely post pictures when I receive it!

I got my ring and wanted to update you! It does look much bigger I think the 6 prongs have a part to play in this as well. Either way I love my new ring! Thanks for your help!
