yeah i did notice that, I have asked if it is eye clean and their comments on the diamond in general.

I have also found...

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1451165.asp

This scores 1.4 on the HCA and is VS2.

That one seems to have some large, visible inclusions for a VS2, IMO.

Not compared with the SI, IMO.

I would ask about eyeclean on both, of course.

Re: Help! I cant decide between settings and now im confused

So got some information..

The H&A SI1.....

Diamond # 1421578 : The diamond would be eye-clean to the naked eye; arms length. I would however when mounted and set to have the imperfect region between 4 - 5 o'clock to be pronged over.

The VS2....

Diamond # 1451165 : The diamond would be eye-clean as the imperfections which is majority found in 10 -11 o'clock region will blend in very well within the diamond and cannot be seen by the naked eye

In terms of brilliance and sparkle...would there be a difference between the two?

I would say the VS2 is the better way to go so far, it is cheaper and is eye clean.

I have requested idealscopes and asset images.

Re: Help! I cant decide between settings and now im confused

VS2. Pending an Idealscope. I don't see one posted or linked to.

Re: Help! I cant decide between settings and now im confused

I agree VS gets my vote, pending the IS of course. I don't think that the SI inclusion will be completely covered by a prong either...

Re: Help! I cant decide between settings and now im confused

so I got the report....

"You'll be happy to hear that you have selected two beautiful and bright diamonds! Diamond 1421578 (1.03crt J SI1) has excellent light performance and the gemologist's trained eye found it to have slightly better fire and brilliance. It has a true "J" color and its inclusions blend so well with the faceting that the diamond will face perfectly eye clean. Diamond 1451165 (1.02crt J VS2) has excellent light performance, a comparable "J" color, and faces eye clean as well.

Since both of your options are extremely bright and beautiful, you cannot go wrong with either diamond. There are no wrong choices between the two! If it is important to you to have the better cut diamond with slightly better fire and brilliance (which you may or may not notice if you saw both diamonds side by side), diamond 1421578 will be your best option. On the other hand, since diamond 1451165 is visibly identical in many ways, you may want to consider it simply because it is several hundred dollars less expensive."

Re: Help! I cant decide between settings and now im confused

My choice would be the VS2. Looks good and the $$ saved is either saved or put towards the setting (or tax, depending where you live).

What are you leaning towards?

Re: Help! I cant decide between settings and now im confused

Yeah I think I agree the VS2 is looking like the better option. The other one isnt worth the extra money specially with the large inclusion.

Does everyone else agree?

Thanks again for your help!
