Hi y'all,
Been reading and researching for a while now. I've learned a LOT and have about 3 weeks to go before I need my beautiful wife Annie's engagement ring when we do a renew of vows ceremony on a cruise (we're a little unconventional here in Austin!). Unfortunately, more data has, in many ways, made the choices harder. Any opinions/tidbits can help!
I'm looking for that -unique- setting that will stand out:
-White gold or platinum
-Antique or vintage leaning
-Halo and/or split shank is a good way to go
-Slim crown height preferred. Annie is short and will have a size 5-5.5 ring, so a low setting will let us comfortably get a larger rock
-My total budget is around $10K, and I'm planning for around $7K to the rock
-She cares more about 'sparkle' and thinks old mine or cushion diamonds may work better because the have more faces - Not sure that I agree...
Center stone I would like to buy separately:
-Round brilliant
-Largest ct size while controlling for:
-GIA cert
-J color, or to match smaller setting stones
-SI1, or to match smaller setting stones
-depth > table, both within 2-3% of 59%
Here's an interesting one, but more diamonds on the shank would be nice:

Any thoughts or recommendations? I'll be paying attention to this post!
