I'm trying to decide between a few diamonds I've narrowed down to - I'm open to other options as well in this general size / price range (30-40k, where closer to $30 is obviously better :) )

2.76c H VS2 - $31,078

Would love feedback on which you think would work best in a simple tiffany setting as an engagement ring

Unfortunately none of those have proportions that fall in the ranges usually recommended here for the best performing diamonds. Try to look for diamonds the stay within the following ranges.

Table 54-57
Depth: 60-62.4
Crown: 34-35 (sometimes 35.5 can work with 40.6 pavillion)
Pavillion: 40.6-40.9 (40.9 is best with 34 crown)

I’ve got to run to pick up the kids, but I’ll post some diamonds examples later if no one has done so.

With your budget, you can easily go super ideal from high performance diamonds (CBI) or white flash (ACA). These are basically the best round diamonds out there. Both companies have good upgrade policies and HPD will even buy their stone back later for 80% value if you didn’t want to trade towards a new diamond. To get a stone from them in your budget you’d need to compromise a little on color or carat size but these super ideals face up whiter and bigger than average diamond of similar specs anyway. White flash has some great options in your color, clarity and price range though.
