I am trying to decide between 2 diamonds which have been quoted for approximately the same price (including ring). They were both assured to be eye clean and are within my budget.

Unfortunately, numbers dont tell us much with fancy cut shapes. You need to provide up close pictures/videos/asets if you have them.
If you dont have any pictures then these are not good options.

Make sure you put them on hold first with the vendor.

I have option 1 in picture format - https://segoma.com/v.aspx?type=view&id=OPKGBKGTGO

Option 2, I have seen in person and it looked nice to me. This was from another jeweller then option 1 which seemed to be more trustworthy. But I am no professional so I have no clue what I am looking for.

Option 1 is not good. Lots of "mush" in the center. (This is why numbers alone are no good). I dont advice picking a cushion on your own.
Pricescopers can help you find one that is nicely cut and provides good light return.

What is your budget/spec requirements? We can show you what good cushions look like.
