The center stone is .91 ct (6.23mm) and I’m not sure of the 2 sidestones but the total ct weight of the band is .32. Trading in the center stone to get even just a full ct costs over $2000 and I don’t think it’s worth the cost. I would like to keep my ring setting the same and just add a halo...which will require the entire ring to be remade but still costs less than a new center stone. I think the halo will add more impact size-wise than going up a tenth of a ct. What size stones should I use for the halo to make the center stone appear larger but still maintain a dainty look? Photos of my actual ring and my Pinterest inspiration. Thanks y’all!

How much additional spread do you wish to achieve?

I’m not sure measurement wise...I just want to give my current ring some oomph...I like the proportions in the Pinterest photo but not sure if the size of those stones...something that looks proportionate to that photo but with my stone sizes would work.

Have you tried halo rings on to see if you really like them? I would suggest going to brick and mortar stores just to get the feel of what’s out there! I love a good cushion halo with a round brilliant center stone! Like Victor Canera Emilya! And to see if you really want a halo!

Yes I have, I really like the round halos but they are all around larger center stones than what I have I the stores...it’s hard to envision those same halos around my stone.

I think your .91 diamond is a perfect size to be haloed! I Have seen pictures where the melees around the center stone is too large and the proportions to the center stone is not attractive. I don’t know the magic proportions though, but you could either go custom and have a designer like David Klass make your custom ring and help you decide on the proportions or purchase a semi mount halo setting and have your diamond set. Ritani is one such company that offers a variety of halo settings: https://www.ritani.com/engagement-rings?keyword=ritani jewelry&network=g&matchtype=e&mobile=&content=&searchnetwork=1&cvosrc=cpc.google.ritani jewelry&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8Z-pgfry2wIVCYVpCh3tTAVUEAAYASAAEgLZXPD_BwE
Of course having custom will cost you more. Go see a jeweler who carries a halo semi mount and see if they have a cz or diamond about the same size as your center stone and have them place on top for visualization purposes. I know my jeweler could help me with that before I choose.

When shopping for halos, it is SO IMPORTANT to look at center stones similar to yours. I did not do that, and I reset my diamond into a halo. I had been looking at 1 carat stones in halos with 1 point halo stones. And I liked that proportion. When my 1.5 carat diamond was set in that same exact halo, I wasn't a fan. I learned that I like for the halo stones to increase in size when the center stone increases. That is not a preference a lot of folks share. But I also decided that it was too much size for me.

I think your stone is perfect for a halo! Gabrielle and Company also sells some really beautiful halo settings. I think IDJ has the best prices on them, but if you could find them locally to try on, that would be great!
