Hi All,

In the process of looking for an engagement ring - been doing some homework but relatively new at this so wanted to get some advice.

I'm intersted in the below diamond, my only concern is that of its clarity (SI1). I contacted Blue Nile and and they advised me that it was "eye-clean" but not sure if I can trust them. I don't really care if there is inclusions as long as I cant see them when looking at it.

Can anyone provide some advise as to whether this is a good choice?

Thanks in advance!

I've also uploaded an image they sent me.

It looks like SI2 to me , or at least a low SI1 and not eye clean.

Are you sure the picture is the diamond you linked, picture looks like the stone has a black crystal, where the lab report shows mostly twinning wisp, maybe a clump of them shows dark.....SI1 can be a very good value if it is eye clean. They have a return policy, ask them again, be clear that it needs to be 'eye clean' (I would define as 8-10 inches w/20/20 vision in good lighting).

I once ask a vendor to have everyone of his staff to look at a stone that was SI1 including his gemologists, he was more than happy to do so. Maybe what you see, he/she doesn't, sometimes more eyes are better.

Thanks for your opinions guys!

I have found another diamond on bule nile - it is also an SI1 but based on the photo it looks a be better quality (less inclusions) - what are your thoughts on this one? In your opinion do you think it would be "eye-clean"? Sorry for asking so many questions, its all new to me I want to make sure I make the right decision! Thanks

Stone #2 appears to be a better choice but hard to tell with inclusions in contrast pattern. What is your budget the community will gladly lead you down the right path.

Thanks for your advice? What do you mean by contrast pattern?

I'm looking for approx 1.4carat round brilliant, H colour, excellent cut, and "eye-clean". My budget is approx $9,000 USD (I'm from Australia so about $10,000 AUD) - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've been searching for a while but always get a bit worried once I get a photo that the diamond is not of good clarity.

Thanks!
