Hi everyone! This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while and have already learned so much! Onto my first question..

I've always had this dream setting in mind, and I've searched high and low on the forum and engagement ring sites, but I haven't seen any similar ones yet.. if someone has seen something like this, could you kindly point me in the right direction? I know there are vendors that can create custom settings, but I'm a very visual person, so I would love to see an already created/actual ring with a similar setting before I know if it is truly what I want. The pave halo style is also tugging at my heartstrings. :) The setting I'm seeking an example, picture of would be something like this:

-=RB=-, with the - and = equating to small round diamonds. So essentially, one small round to the left (and aligned in the middle height of) two small rounds that are one above the other. Then would be the middle round diamond, and then the same pattern on the other side. I've search for graduated settings, but those seem to be one small, one large, middle, one large, one small, etc. The one I'm looking for is 1-2-1-2-1, with the 2s sitting in a vertical (or slightly sloped to trace the side of the middle diamond) line.

Sorry the description was so long, and probably confusing, but I'd love if anyone could show me a real life example if they've seen one!

Thanks so much for both responses! I knew my description wouldn't cut it.. both suggestions are both close, but I was thinking smaller side diamonds. I've tried to do a very basic sketch, hopefully this is more helpful :)

Like a trillion side stone but with 3 small RB instead.

Definitely uncommon, therefore, you may need to have it custom-made.

I guess the one I posted was closed, however, the centre stone was not large enough and was the wrong shape.

I can't remember seeing that many RBs with trillion sides either.

Exactly, DK! You were right on the mark, just mini-sized versions. Thanks so much for your help.
 
This setting looks like what you described... the proportions may be off (you said you wanted the center to be much larger in comparison), but it's not an uncommon setting and could easily be done. :))

Thank you SO much, msop04!! That is a great reference photo, I really appreciate it! I've seen beautiful RB with pear side stone rings on this site, but for me personally, I'm drawn to the daintiness, sparkle, and round edges of the multiple round side stones.

I really like this Stuller that marymm posted. I will say that my sister's SIL has a setting very similar to this, and it is very pretty. She opted for the three side stones instead of one larger pear or trillion. I really like it -- it's dainty and gives just the right amount of sparkle. :))

I don't have a photo, but I can tell you hers is pretty small. Do you already have your center stone? If not, what are you looking for? If you know your budget and are comfortable shopping online, we'd be happy to help you find one! :))
 
Hi msop04 - I feel a little silly saying this, but I am unfortunately not in the buying stage yet.. I had just always wondered what this specific setting I had in my mind would look like! Boyfriend and I have talked about it, but it's not quite the right time yet. I think he's saving up ;) I can't wait until I get the green light though, as I've seen everyone here be SUPER helpful with the diamond search. I am definitely aiming for 2.5+ ct - cut, then size, then color, clarity (eye-clean) are the order of importance to me.. I've been watching the pre-loved forum, because I can't help but think if we saw a good enough deal, he'd have to jump! :) But going back to your post, I will absolutely be up for everyone's help when the time comes.. thanks so much for the offer!!
