Heirlooms cleaned up-OMCs, emerald cut, deco cocktail ring

I had posted about these before, but they have since been cleaned and here are some better pictures. I am going to pick either the large OMC or the second one for an engagement ring. I have the stats on the large OMC below. If the second one is significantly whiter or clearer (don't have an appraisal yet) I might pick this one despite the size. But the large OMC is certainly very arresting in the pictures. Can't wait to have them in my hands!!! My parents will be shipping them.

How beautiful - and so special too!!

Do you plan to reset the stone that you pick? I only ask because I would suggest that you keep the original mounting a) for sentimental reasons and b) because you may decide to switch it back someday . I always worry because often, jewelers and benchmen suggest scrapping the original mountings.

Love the dinner ring too!!

We will be resetting it but I had thought I might have the mount set with a colored stone for my mother as a thank you for the gift of the diamond. Colorless diamonds are not to her taste and she has never worn any of these although they are all from her family. They are mostly inscribed so I wouldn't want to scrap the settings.

The cocktail ring looks like mostly all Old Mine cuts to me. So much lovely vintage eye candy, but I'd pick that emerald cut or the first Old Mine cut out of any of them, but I understand you wanting a whiter stone. Goodluck with which ever one you choose!!!!

What a wonderful treasure trove of diamonds to be able to chose from!! I love then all - very beautiful! - but if it were me, I'd fall in love w the EC design!

Hi all, I am going with the first large Old Mine Cut! The other two solitaires appraised at the same color level. They were also appraised at SI1 not SI2 like the big one but after chatting about how the diamond looks I think it is eyeclean or almost eyeclean and I will be comfortable with it. I like that the shape is more of a distinct cushion than the next smallest, which just looks sort of off-round to me.

The emerald cut was appraised at .84 carats, VS1, and E-F! Wow! But, my mom wants to keep it... and who can blame her It's a bit smaller than I would want anyway. That one has more going on in the setting as well so it would be a shame to reset it. (I am coordinating the setting with my girlfriend's ring, she is getting a heart cut- so I have to reset.)
