Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, Wow to the 84” TV. I think ours if 75” or 80” and it was a major chore to get it mounted on the wall. Good idea to stay out of that task. We had our hopper and Apple TV plugged in and behind the TV on the wall. The Hopper needs rebooted sometimes but so far I’ve managed to get it going again with the remote. Your thrillometer is about as pegged as mine is. Woo hoo for packing tape on sale. Good deal to getting your steps in most of the time. One of the things I like about lifting is I only do it twice a week. We were up late last night with taking pictures, but since Marty was in the observatory working on stuff, I didn’t take many pictures. Hopefully tonight will be better. He is working on focusing stuff. Yes, our wind out here is NUTS. Ugh to the wrong shoes for the wedding. I only had tennis shoes anymore. If we go somewhere fancy, I wear my black ones. I am too unsteady on my feet even in them.

Deegee, Darla is a cutie, I hope she adopts quickly to hear new loving home. It’s a good sign she hangs out with you and gets along with Ruby. I felt like I was on a staycation for about a month after I retired too. A month later I was looking for something to do. And we know where that ended up. I do enjoy that all sky camera. We get Huey’s flying over at night since an air base is south of us. It looks like a really bright meteor. I told people that at work once and they believed it. Then I posted a “just kidding”. My carpel tunnel is a little less agitated this weekend. I’ve been sleeping some with my Velcro brace again. The tender clumpy spot seems to have migrated up my arm a bit. I can crochet, but I have to watch every single stitch.

Not much new with us. Between work and play, I don’t get much else done. I did get a picture of a nova and shot a galaxy I’ve already done, but got a better picture of it. Marty is heading out on Monday to the astronomy convention / star party on Monday. I was going to have friends from my photo shop days over for lunch next Saturday, but the our builder’s warranty guy is coming by Saturday from 1 to 4 to work on things, so I’ll have to rethink that. We’ve almost been here a year.

Take care.

Happy Sunday kids!

Deegee, yay to staycation mode! Before long Matt is going to want to join you LOL. Darla is a adorable and I am betting 100% you are going to add to the fam permanently. Look at that tongue! Doing stuff in the middle of the day during the week will change your life. A few months ago, in a moment of stupidity, I went to Costco on a weekend day. I literally walked in with my cart, got about a quarter of the way down the first aisle, and turned around and went right back out. Too many people doing too many stupid things. Now it's all Tuesday and Wednesday for me ha ha.

Curby, I saw your mimosa post. Did you drinking out without me?!? Fortunately the new TV fit onto the mounting that was already on the wall from the old TV. I can't even imagine what THAT would have been like, if they'd have had to put up a new bracket too. Oy. I ordered three new pairs of Brooks a few weeks ago. Same style and size I've been wearing for years. Two of them are fine. One pair is so short I had to take my orthotics out and double check that I hadn't put them in on top of the regular cushioned insole. They are obviously going back.

Friday was a big listing day, and Saturday I was at the sale. I got there really early and bought a bunch of the X-mas stuff (almost all of it really) before other buyers started showing up. My big Christmas in July push is going to run into August -- maybe September! -- at this rate.

Last night we went over to the annual "midnight flea market" at the local fairgrounds. I got a bowl, some Wedgwood pieces, and a top that's probably one size too big, but it was $2 so whatever. YF found a Denver Broncos football jersey and Liam got some tools. So all in all it was a success (unlike some years when we all come home empty handed).

We're just now back from Iowa where we had OF's family graduation party. I ate way too much, and a lot of it "bad stuff," but that's OK. Back on the wagon tomorrow!

Alright, down to the basement I go. Three orders to pack, and when I'm done with that I need to do my nails. This latest set of nail "stickers" hasn't lasted well at all. I think I'm going to try the old fashioned way with regular gel polish. I haven't done that for ages so I hope it doesn't end up looking like a drunk monkey gave me a manicure when I done!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, Christmas dishes should sell well in the fall. Nice you scored some of it. I’ve a ton in my pantry you should come get. I did drink without you twice yesterday. How rude of me. We split a bottle of wine with supper too. We did have to put a new bracket too when we installed the giant TV. It was on a stand at our last house, so it wasn’t mounted on the wall. What style of Brooks was too small? I wear Beast and Glycerin. The Glycerin have been pinching my little toe. I need to order some more Beast.

It sounds like all of you made a haul at the midnight flea market.

Marty just bought new stuff for a second version of our allsky camera and another weather station. The one he put on the observatory keeps pooping out on him. It did catch a gust yesterday over 80. It’s the wind reading that flatline. I wonder if our wind is just too much for it. Hopefully that first company will refund his money. It was around $1,000 for it. It sends data to his program that runs his scopes and observatory that will shut things down if it gets too windy or it starts to rain.

I worked some both days this weekend. My July sky charts got posted by the guy who makes them on Friday and I only have a week left to get the charts done (it usually takes 2 days) and then get the videos out for the beginning of the month plus get articles updated for the beginning of the month. Last month I had time in the middle of the month and worked ahead as well as I could on videos, I didn’t get that done this time.

Marty is heading to Utah tomorrow for that astronomy convection / star party for a week. I’m all nervous about being alone. My right knee is still worrisome and I’ve been sleeping with compression knee sleeves. It seems to help it but has messed with muscles on that leg and foot so now my foot wants to give out on me. I do need to make an appointment, I wish I knew who to see though. Oh well, I’ll figure it out. I was going to have some friends over for lunch this coming Saturday and just my luck, the warranty guy wants to come by from 1 to 4 Saturday to work on the warranty fixes we sent him.

I got this picture last night of the Witch’s Broom nebula. It’s in Cygnus and a supernova remnant. I won’t be taking pictures for a week because if the roof doesn’t close for me, I have no idea what I’d do. Marty has to go out and tweak things sometime.

Laters,
Curby
