HCA Comparison for similar 1.2 CT GIA stones

Looking at these two very similar 1.2 CT GIA Ex cut SI2 stones and main difference is HCA score and color. What do you think.

Stone 1: $7900
HCA 1.1 (Ex,Ex,Ex, Vg)
GIA Ex Cut, Ex Polish, VG Symm (Cert Feb 2012)
Color - G

Stone 2: $7400
HCA 1.8 (Ex. Vg, Vg, Vg)
GIA Ex cut, VG Polish, Ex Symm (Cert May 2006 - Concerning?)
Color - E (2 grades better)

I have a similar more thorough post but I think it was too long for people to answer. Anyway just trying to decide between these and wondering if price sounds right? Thank you for your time.

That really is not enough information. Have you seen the two diamonds? If not, do you have magnified photos and idealscope images? Idealscope images will tell us what we need to know. But you have to have pictures to buy SI2 diamonds.

Original thread has much more info. Yes I have seen both in person and they both look very shinny and beautiful in the store. I havent seen them side by side as its different stores. I dont have idealscope images.

As you will see from the cert clarity plot the feathers on both are the main inclusion and on the left side. Looks like a decent crack when viewed with loop which scares me but the rest of the specs seem exactly what I was looking for.

Is 7400-7900 too much for these? I know there are more options on online vendors but I have been talking to them and unless you get the much more expensive in house stones in kind of a shot in the dark of what to expect, especially if you stay with Si2.

The original reply mentioned that they would not want an SI2 with a feather but rather a twinning whips or something less significant.
