Have you seen this setting?

ever since I started looking at rings I thought I was dead set on a round halo with a very thin diamond band...then I came across this beauty. But I haven't seen it in person. I'm concerned about two things, will the spaces in the "halo" look funny from certain angles, and with the spaces will it have the same illusion effect of a standard halo. I am planning on setting it with a .7-.75 round.

this is what I fell in love with, I love the petal detail, although I'm probably the only one that will notice this detail.

Any idea what is the size of the center stone? I think it has to be fairly large otherwise it'll look as though the petals are swallowing it whole. It also looks like the diamond is sitting very high in the basket due to the design.
