Personally (and from experience) I would buy online! I''m sure most people on this board will say the same. I went over into Michigan to look at settings (Tappers in West Bloomfield was amazing) but for the diamond, we decided to buy online and are so happy we did!Date: 6/27/2007 10:22:29 AM

My bf and I live in Canada but we are often in Michigan for shopping. We don''t know any good US spots to buy diamonds - any suggestions?
For cushion cuts, it seems like *the* place to go is www.engagementringsdirect.com and talk to Mark Turnowski. I haven''t purchased a diamond from him, but my setting was made by him and although I have yet to see it, doing business with him was very smooth. He''s in NYC so he can actually take a look at whatever stones he thinks are a good fit for you.Date: 6/27/2007 11:44:35 AM

Looking for a cushion cut - will set it here in Canada (found a jeweller that we like). I''ve purchased items on line but nothing as expensive as a diamond!!! How can you be sure that you are getting what you asked for?? I''ve also heard that you need to see a cushion cut and that you shouldn''t rely on the specs alone.
Aside from bluenile, I don''t know of any reputable online spots. Help?

if you''re looking for a cushion, I''d also suggest contacting mark t at www.engagementringsdirect.com. He''s known around this place as the cushion king for good reason. he seems to have an amazing eye for cushions and have found many pricescopers gorgeous ones. He''s also located in the diamond district in NY so he has access to lots of stones with the added fees of having to have them shipped to a vendor someone else.
