Hey Everyone,

I have a question on Good Old Gold's 72-hour deposit policy:

Is the $500 deposit refundable within those 3 days? Or, do I have to buy the stone and then the entire transaction is refundable?

I just want to put 2 diamonds on hold that are on their website since they are closed today and tomorrow. I sent an email to their sales department about the two stones but want to make sure someone else does not purchase the stones in the meantime.

I'm sure this question was answered on PS before but I could not find the answer. Also, GOG's policy on their site doesn't specifically say the deposit is refundable, only that once the stone is paid for in full, the transaction refundable within 30 days.

I was just going to select the free 24-hour hold option http://www.goodoldgold.com/general_questions but that won't allow enough time :(

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I just called and left GOG a message as well with my question.

Hmmm, I think you can put them on hold and just click something like "pay by wire transfer" and I think it will keep them on hold until they reopen. If there is a place for a note, just say you are placing them on hold to decide between them when they reopen Tuesday. I don't think they normally check email on the days they are closed.
 
Yes, the hold amount is fully refundable, as I've done it myself. You may want to call and confirm, but I was refunded the money without purchasing the stone. Also, I don't think the hold is automatically removed after 72 hours. I believe they manually remove it because it can be extended. Like diamondseeker said, just put a note saying that you want them held until they reopen. I doubt that they would have a problem with it.

Good Old Gold is simply amazing. Their dedication to customer service is just so wonderful, especially when making such a major life purchase. I am honestly amazed that more consumers do not demand more from other B & M stores. They must not know that GOG is out there! Thank you PriceScope!
