I know, Amy looks amazing in those pearls, doesn't she? TDF. Makes me want to color my hair auburn again (although I still wouldn't look like her).

Today was a whirlwind. Lots of traffic that didn't move fast enough. When I first saw Kay's strand I thought I recognized the color but was not sure. Yes it was listed as 24kt color golden ss pearls. I LOVED it even if it wasn't really 24kt color because it was pretty color at least to what I remember it should be plus the strand was lots and lots darker than what I already had.

My first husbands uncle was a goldsmiths. For our wedding he took a silver dish and plated it in 24kt gold. I have had that dish on my coffee table for 43 years. I see it every day. I packed it up and took it to Pearl Paradise with me in a little bag just to see how close a color Golden South Sea pearls 24kt gold would come to actual 24kt gold.

Enjoy your pearls girls because who ever go this color really got something special.

Easy to pick out that big golden strand in the middle. And, during the sale, it is only $78,210! With the savings of nearly $21K you could buy enough golden drop strands to make that rope Kay wants.

I think there is a right gold for everybody. Yellow goldens do not look good on me but deeper goldens with red and green overtones really pop against my skin. I recently got five circled gss but with some red and green overtones (some are metallic gold) for a tin cup and even with their blemishes I was still impressed. They sparked my interest in Gssps again.

They sparked my interest in Gssps again.

I think you are right about just needing to find the right shade. The range of hues shown in 4RG' pics is amazing. I do not look good in yellow clothes, so the yellow shades of GSS would not flatter me. The deep, dark gold works for me (as do dark Tahitians). For someone with tan skin, a lighter color might be more flattering.

I see this morning that there is only one strand left in the under $3,000 price point. It is that baroque beauty lying right next to the three gold and white SS strands in the Mia's desk photos from 4Ranch Girl. A nice sized and colored strand.

On a personal note, my golden SS strand from Pearl Paradise is sitting in a box only a few minutes from my office right now. However, Fed Ex is holding for delivery until tomorrow. Grrrrrr!
