What would you guys wear to a funeral? I'm scared if I wear something I love, I'll always associate it with sadness. :(

I'm thinking Lutens Vitriol D'Oiellet (I probably spelled that wrong) - a cold carnation. Bonus is that I can dab it on, which I generally dislike, but want to go light on anything I do wear.

@daneshpastry I avoid funerals as much as possible.Last one I went to was my grandmother's which still haunts me. I don't do well with those things. I probably can't help (I don't think I wore a scent..but I honestly don't remember) I just remember I could not stand to smell lilies for a few years afterwards.

It's my grandfather's funeral, so I have to go unfortunately.

I hate the smell of lilies already :(2 Maybe I'll just skip the perfume altogether. Not sure why I'm thinking about it anyway.

I'm the same way, I never wear any fragrance I love to a sad occasion, so I'd skip perfume personally. Unless you're ok with Vd'O.

OK You've inspired me to wear Lipstick Rose too! It's a bit cold and rainy today here and it somehow suits the weather.

Perfect! It's rainy and chilly here too and it called out to me, the violets and green notes suit the day beautifully.

My condolences. Last funeral I went to was my grandmother's. I personally love lilies (used to have a yard full of them) but that threw me off big time. Lilies were everywhere as that was also her favorite flower. It was also after this that I developed a very intense claustrophobia. Def. related.

I think its a good idea to skp wearing perfume altogether, that way no association. Like I said, I couldn't even remember what I wore (if anything).

Mom and dad know I will not be at their funeral(s) I seriously would not be able to handle such a thing. My husband's father had the right idea. Let people (if they wanted to) come together and celebrate life, not death. So no flowers, no body, no casket, nothing somber. He was a reknowned musician in his day, so might be where that all comes from. The kids released his ashes privately out to sea as requested. One thing I remember in the last conversation I had with him was this particular statement. He said "don't be sad for me, because I will be free". Wise man.

Thanks I wouldn't want a funeral either...your stepfather had the right idea.

Wearing Dune today. Found a travel spray of Voyage D'Hermes so I'll wear that for the rest of the week.

Have a great weekend all!

Today I'm wearing Boadicea's Intense. Coughed a little on application so things are getting better :D We're now in the wet season in Florida, and this is really great for this time of year.

OK y'all. I would like your input. I'm not thinking of buying this, just came across it in my hanging out time at eBay (Official Site of Satan I swear). The seller has no clue, I have no clue.

Any of you have a clue?? Ha! Is this perfume? The thing is HUGE, so I'm wondering if it is a display? But of what...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-LARGE-VINTAGE-SEALED-PERFUME-BOTTLE-NO-IDEA-OF-MAKER-CORD-SEALED-WITH-N/183214828733?_trkparms=aid=888007&algo=DISC.MBE&ao=1&asc=44040&meid=5905045715894386a9cf57ec81452bbf&pid=100009&rk=1&rkt=2&sd=222570701691&itm=183214828733&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982

I feel like I've seen this before but where is anyone's guess. I'm surprised there's no images on the bottom. What I can tell you is that Laliqe of a certain age will have a hand etched numbers in the corner on the bottom of the container. This always cooresponds with a matching hand etching on the stopper.
Also sometimes on the bottom of some older bottles they will have at least a maker of the glass either stamped (usually stuff in the 50's and later) or even a sticker.

It could well be a factice given its size They can go for lots of money depending on what it is.

Well, other than the size, the thing that made me think factice was the fact that it has a cord but no baudruche, and no evidence that one has been taken off. Having removed a couple of those now, I can attest to how difficult it is to get one completely off, and I'm pretty sure it can hardly ever be done without doing serious damage to the cord. So giant bottle with cording but no baudruche....?

It is an awfully pretty thing though isn't it?

Nah. I just wanted to know what it was. The bottle and whatever was in it, sold for about $80, so I suspect someone got a decent deal, just for sheer size. :)

HI:

Father Hubbard's cupboard is bare. Would like some suggestions for scents for Fathers Day. My DH loves Creed Royal Oud and many Tom Ford fragrances. He is flexible--I buy him what I like! (and also wear) lol

cheers--Sharon

Could I ask for some assistance - I have a candle that has the following essential oil ingredients that I would LOVE to find in perfume form or something close. The candle maker offers some scents in perfume oil form but not this one sadly.
Would any of you perfume specialists have some suggestions I could try?
Top: spicy, pink pepper, cardamom, bergamot
Mid: cypress, incense, floral, jasmine
Base: oriental vanilla, tonka bean, cedarwood, amber, musk

I think Frangrantica allows you to search by notes, you can enter in as many notes as you want and it gives you a list of all perfumes with those notes.

Today I'm wearing a very boring Prada Iris (No1). Ok its NOT boring just PERFECT!!!!:appl: But yeah it can be a bit boring, no real nose acrobatics, it just smells GUUUUUD:lickout:

The sad part is I don't have much of it left (when did that happen?!?!?) and I can't seem to get it from any Prada boutique in NY(they love to sometimes pretend they don't know what you're talking about:roll)
