First time diamond purchase

OP - keep in mind the HCA is only a rejection tool, not a selection tool. The fact that a stone has a HCA < 2 does not mean it is a good stone - only that it is worthy of further consideration.

Hello everyone)

Unfortunately, i had no luck with wf and bn. The main reason is duration of wire payment. Anyway i am much wiser now, and my next purchase will be without hurry and in proper shops. I didn't manage to find Sergey's contact either.
I really don't want to make a proposal with a placeholder ring for some personal reasons.
So this time i have to buy diamond here. I'm going to stick with the first one. But i'd be happy to hear you name the winner in 'best of the worst(not very well cut)))' nomination.

Thanks for all your advice and patience

Hold on Aywa, I might have found a way to get hold of Sergey, bear with me, I've put the word out.

Does @Serg have contact details on his website?

I thought it was in my favourites but I cannot find the website address :(

Remembered it!!

https://cutwise.com/

I can't get any diamonds to come up on the website :( but that might just be my computer??

The contact details linked to at the bottom give a couple of email addresses that might be of use, though?

Definitely worth trying those too, between us we should be able to hunt him up.

Well, i bought a ring with a diamond. I'd give this ring unspoken code name 'Kotov Syndrome' :)
My stone just got sold... And a couple more i thought of.
So i came to yakutian diamonds, looked through a bucket of different rings (with gia gems) and chose the one i liked the most. Was just judging it's sparks by my eye))

I don't know, i liked it. But the diamond is definitely waaaaay below your standars.
It is Gia 1152868591, in case anybody is interested. But please, don't tell me the critics fot this one, i just don't want to know.

I am really thankful to all of you guys.
I guess, i'll come here again in case of any other great event)

Sometimes we are limited by time or by a small number of options - we can only do our best in these circumstances!

I hope the recipient likes it :))

Please do come back in the future!

Congratulations! The stone isn't actually way below our standards, it has good things going for it AND it's F colour and VS, don't worry, be happy!

Let us know how it all goes and please if you can, we'd love to see some photos of the finished result!

Here it is. I just can't get it right, it's pretty difficult to take a photo =/ I can try better, if you tell me how. And i liked the box with a led, it really makes it look killer irl.

It's really elegant and classic, a lovely ring!

Photographing diamonds is incredibly difficult, some posters have elevated it to an art form but it isn't easy and you did well for your first attempt!

Often taking photos outside with the sun behind you works, keep the stone and camera as still as possible and experiment, try HD mode on your camera to see what works best.

It only seems like yesterday we were telling people to use macro mode on their cameras, how time flies.....:eek-2:

Lorelei is correct - they are very difficult to photograph!

It is a classic ring design, timeless and elegant - I hope the recipient loves it! :))
