First lab diamond purchase from Distinctive Gem

 As you already know, love it! My favorite size sweet spot. I wouldn't be in any rush to change the setting either, it really is a very nice pairing.

@ItsMainelyYou, aw thanks so much, I’m glad your avatar doesn’t reflect how you feel about this ring lol!

Hahahaaa, not al all! Though if I'm honest, it is my resting baby face.

Read on PS that you can use a roll of toilet paper to see arrows in a diamond….

I took this really quickly while my husband was picking up our son from a football game. If he saw me with a roll of toilet paper with my ring at the bottom taking a picture, he would have me committed! You can see some arrows though ;-)

Your ring is literally my dream, the dahlia is my favorite setting and that pink tint on your diamond is so romantic and feminine. I hear you about cut, I would love a pink tinted OEC but that is way out of the budget. Do you mind me asking if the pink tint is more obvious in person? I wondered if the computer and phones tend to wash it out or if that’s a true representation.

hi! it only shows its hugh in certain lights, she even goes purples sometimes. so strange!

That’s very cool, it is a beautiful ring!

I just watched a video Rhino did of your diamond. "Vetting a 1.31 L SI1" I love his videos and I LOVE this diamond! You sure knocked this one out of the park. Hearts and arrows and a beautiful color. It's fabulous.

Thank you so much! I feel lucky not only about finding such a beautiful diamond, but also about the whole experience and getting to work with such wonderful people. =)2

A roll of toilet paper. Fifty years ago it was a hashpipe, now it's an Idealscope.

I’m back and then off to make dinner….mom life!

This whole experience was by far the best I’ve had, Jonathan and Vicki were in contact nearly daily with updates. It took two weeks from the day I ordered the diamond to having the completed ring, that was in part because they were working with an existing setting, so factor in mailing time for that. A big thank you to both of them @Rhino for being so awesome!

Anyone reading this needs to know I am not a numbers girl and I also didn’t go crazy trying to decide between CVD or HPHT. It was literally me looking at the diamonds available and seeing a pink tint and going that one! Of course it helps that Jonathan vetted the stone and I trust him so that probably contributed to my lack of intense research. This diamond probably has a more apparent pink tint because it is a faint brown K, maybe that will be helpful to someone wanting a similar diamond.

This purchase came in right around $1675 and that was the diamond, tax, overnight shipping and the cost to set the diamond and polish the setting.

Stats:

1.31 carat-7.01 x 7.09 x 4.35
K color with faint brown tint
SI1 clarity
CVD
Ideal Cut
Scores 2.4 on HCA

I took about a billion pictures because I couldn’t tell which ones showed the tint I see in person, it’s hard to capture. In real life it definitely has a subtle pink tint to it which will probably be further enhanced by a rose gold setting down the line.

More to come!

You got that diamond . . set in a ring and mailed back to you for $1,675?? SHUT UP! It looks like it cost four times that much. OH MY GOD.
You have to be the sharpest person on this forum. Remind your husband of this if he catches you with the toilet paper roll again.

Is there a link? Would love to see! I didn’t see on his IG.

@Ibrakeforpossums, you made my night, thank you. Of course I have to be savvy having limited bling bucks. Case in point, the toilet paper was 1 ply……more money for bling that way

Love it! So pretty.

Hey all,

New spot for me here but very excited to be joining the lab diamond club!

Inspired by all the amazing lab diamonds here, I decided to browse Distinctive’s inventory and happened upon a pink tinted 1.31 K color SI1. I emailed Jonathan to confirm it does have a pink tint, that it wasn’t just wishful thinking, and he confirmed it does indeed!

Jonathan got the stone today and he is going to vet it tomorrow and send video. Can’t wait! I am hoping it is eye-clean, there is a little spot in the center I’m worried about. Well, just had to share because I’m so excited, here is a pic and the stats.

I've been doing my homework and finally made my purchase, my wife is now the proud owner of a super ideal cut 1.46ct ,color-E, clarity VS2 "lab grown" vs2 diamond as her center stone. The stone shines like hell as it post a 1.1 on the HCA. I compared the exact stone in an earth grown diamond and the price turned out to be $16k, I paid $3200.00 for her lab grown. Some might say "lab grown diamonds are worthless after purchase", which I feel is sheer panic by overpriced earth grown diamond owners and dealers. Honestly, they're right to be afraid, they should be very afraid that the 100+yrs of beautiful, overpriced, blood mined diamonds are coming to an end ,and that's coming from a traditional 45yr old male. No one can argue that most natural diamonds retail purchased will depreciate somewhere between 30 and 50% after a yr or 2 after of purchase. If my lab diamond is worth absolutely nothing ,I loose $3200-$3200=$0 , in comparison to the comparable earth diamond being worth 50% of it's original purchase $16k -$8= -$8k!Would you rather loose $8k or $3200? hmmm...Others might argue, but the love I have for my wife has nothing to do with how much I pay for a stone ,but the beauty of the stone has a direct correlation. Considering her lab grown is as beautiful or maybe even more beautiful ,I'm going to error on the side of saving thousands of dollars, which isn't an error at all as the masses will easily prove.https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP7yLGIYy261ReMADGM4KlP_W51H08K30JRhnyuDv9B_LihEjE7wbDoGoqzTENUJw/photo/AF1QipPraRacjvl7WtwFkagydB85dpNOVeeV05-kgXbS?key=aVNuaVpXYVAzNGE3YmdvWnJiS2RYT3h1cUgxNWFn

I had this reset into rose gold since Stuller had a sale on one. Very happy with how this turned out. Sorry if these pictures come out huge :roll2:

Thanks for posting. Stuller solitaires are awesome. I bought a little diamond recently just for a fashion ring and I Stuck It in a Stuller (TM). I was looking at this setting and might consider it next time.

It looks beautiful Yada. I love the setting you chose. The whole stack is :kiss2:

I know this will be beautiful!!!! I have a 2.11 K VS1 with a pink tint from Jon at Distinctive Gems!!! It’s gorgeous! I’m actually trying to sell it, as I’m just not an MRB girl sadly!

Hello, I was reading this post and came across your comment on possibly wanting to sell your 2.11 K VS1, do you have pics and are you putting it on LT?
