Hello again everyone!

So after many months of researching and shopping for a ring - I finally feel good about this stone. I took the advice of many of you and contacted Yekutiel over at ID Jewelry. I extended my budget a little bit to make sure I focused on cut and size. What do you guys think of the stone that Yekutiel picked for me?

Its a 1.78 CT H/SI1 - and with a Platinum (Tiffany Style/Vatche U113) setting for $13k

I appreciate any inputs before I make this huge purchase lol

Is it eyeclean? especially around 7-8 o'clock position.

@skypie Yekutiel said it definitely is eye clean

Here is a video he sent me - disclaimer though, there were some tiny specs and spots and he said that his assistant had the ring cleaned and left spots on it.

Good performer for excellent price. You did well. I think it most likely is eye clean, but you'll have to check with IDJ.

Definitely helps confirming my decision. But yeah according to IDJ - it’s eye clean. Keeping it at SI1 I’m able to get the size and color I was looking for.

I think it looks great! And I definitely trust IDJ about whether it's eye clean.

Looks pretty good overall.

Just curious on the video, it appears cloudy/hazy to me. I'm not familiar with IDJ videos so maybe just their technology but did you ask about this?

@lovedogs I agree! Yekutiel has been awesome.

@sledge I did ask about this, he did say that one of his reps had cleaned the diamond with some alcohol solution and cleaned it. However she didn't clean it to well and left some spots on it. He did assure that the diamond is eye clean.

How do I know the HCA score number you spoke about before Sledge?

Gotcha. I might ask Yueketil to reclean the stone (to his satisfaction) and re-video it for you. Or have him ship to you so you can see. I don't doubt his word, but that is bothersome (at least for me). Admittedly I am picky.

In regards to the HCA, go here and plug in the requested data:

This diamond scores a 1.0.

Additionally here is a copy of the AGS proportions chart using the spreadsheet I custom created:

Thanks Sledge!

So is 1 a good score to look for when it comes to these numbers? I just want to make sure considering the amount of money/carat, color, etc it is a good price.

Yeah I agree - I will make sure with him to see more pictures.

HCA is irrelevant when you have all the reflector images already. HCA aims to be a predictor of potential light return (mainly) based on a perfectly symmetrical diamond but you already have your diamond specific ASET scope.

Oh - that makes sense! Thank you for explaining that :)
