Hello, hello,

I have found another interesting stone to think about. Here''s the angles:

Depth: 62.3 %
Table: 56 %
Crown Angle: 36°
Crown Height: 16 %
Pavilion Angle: 40.6°
Pavilion Depth: 43 %

Star length: 50 %
Lower Half: 80 %

Girdle: Medium, Faceted

What do people think? It scores a 1.8 on the HCA with X,X,VG,VG.

Nice or no? Stick with more traditional angles? I love fire, but have never seen a FIC in real life.

Thanks!

Hi Angeline,

I can''t tell you which to get, but I''ll throw you a link where we all learned about FIC''s from Gary. Maybe it will help you decide whether it''s worth it or not. Seems the extra amount of fire is not monumental... If you still don''t know at the end, maybe bring it home to view, if there''s a good return policy, and also take it to somewhere that has AGS0''s/Hearts On Fire, and compare it with them.

Angeline, my caution would be that we are not always in lighting that produces fire anyway. So my preference is for a traditional ideal cut since that will look good in most environments.

I showed a couple a similar stone (without H&A''s) on saturday and they chose it over a more standard H&A''s.
It was not noticably less bright in shaded cloudy bright daylight

What is FIC?

Thanks as always for your input everyone. I''m always grateful for people''s patience with the endless Q''s!

I will check out the link Ellen, and thanks for the caution ds06.

Garry, I wish I were in Melbourne, I''m holidaying in Adelaide at the moment from CA. I''d love to say g''day!
