Besides the color (not a concern) ... clarity is fine obviously ...

I’ve combed through tons of threads trying to parse out what to look for vs not with table, depth, pav facets lighting up in movement, but I cannot make out what to expect with this one. Should have ASET & IS in the next day or 2, and will post them when I get them (unless they’re so glaringly terrible they aren’t worth the bandwidth). Is it a dog/dud?

I can’t tell yet if it’s mushy/leaky under the table or not ... hard to tell even in the video. Another vendor listed it as ‘excellent’ cut vs Adiamor saying ‘Very Good’ (not sure why the discrepancy there since it’s a virtual stone that - I presume - neither has seen in person).

Thoughts before the ASET/IS come in? TIA :wavey:

The different lighting environments each vendor uses for videos does make comparison between vendors difficult - Adiamor seems to use a lot lower and more diffuse lighting than JA, for example, so JA stones seem to more obviously show the facets working and reflecting.

I therefore find it hard to judge the stone in question, but it does not look bad - obstruction patterns seem to be nicely distributed, and it doesn't seem to be windowing when tilted, but the grey background really doesn't help us identify if a stone is leaking or just reflecting lower amounts of light.

Will be interested to see the ASET in due course but, of course, we mustn't forget that is just one angle, and how the stone works at all the tilt angles is also important!

Nothing's ever easy... lol

Thank you for chiming in @OoohShiny I agree the background in the video does not help assess the stone’s potential for leakage at all.

In the interest of transparency, I’m working with a different vendor (B2C) than Adiamor on this stone; however, once it was secured for me, they took the video off their website, so I linked the Adiamor video so it could be viewed. It is the exact same video though, so I think it’s taken by the diamond supplier and shared with all the retailers who offer/list the diamond/s.

I do wish there were some standard they (suppliers/vendors) could apply when producing images, but that’s all just part of each one’s competitive advantage to do more, I suppose.

It’s too hard to judge. You would have to see this one in person if possible.

Thank you both for the feedback. I decided this evening to release the diamond/cancel the order ... just FYI in case anyone else might be interested in that particular diamond.
