Hey everyone,
I am finalizing my engagement ring for a proposal this coming holiday season. I am picking out the ring and then my boyfriend will purchase it when it's all ready. My budget for the center stone realistically tops out at $11,000. I would like to be as close to 6.5mm (about 1.5 carats) as possible.
So far I have the setting and the wedding band in platinum. I believe the side stones are color graded G. http://www.shaneco.com/Catalog/Quic...ement-Rings&Metal=Platinum&X=41044891&AC=true
The center stone in the below photos is an I SI2. At Shane Co it looked great except in some certain movements it would look yellow. I think this will always bother me, and after I went home and looked at stones with comparable specs it feels like it might be about $2,000 overpriced at its $9,800 price tag. So I've decided to keep the setting and wedding band but purchase a different center stone. (The ring has not yet been set).
The photos are of my hand and the ring at Shane Co around 5:00p.m. so the room wasn't full of sunlight but still plenty of natural light. I even took stone outside and didn't see any yellow. But still...those flashes. I'm worried what it will look like in dimmer lighting. It did have flashes of blue which I absolutely love.
I am currently looking at these 3 replacements. I love GOG but the stone in my budget only has a limited guarantee which is really the only drawback I can think of. Besides the GOG stone, I am really thinking about getting more info on the 1.50 G VS1 from JA given the total purchase package.
What do you guys think?

(I believe the 1.47 is on the left. The comparison stone is a 1.55 F VS2 but is sadly about $1,600 of my budget. Otherwise it would be my absolute favorite and probably a no-brainer purchase -- depending on what you guys thought
