Hello!

Long time lurker, first time poster. After days of research, I landed on the following diamond. I received the Idealscope picture today and would love the community's expertise on whether it's a good diamond. Seems like there's slight light leakage in the middle? Or is that normal?

Thank you so much!

The IS image is slightly off center, but it may have a slight twist/variations in the pavilion that could contribute to minor leakage- but the chances are you won't perceive such effect naked eye. If the price is right, it's a stone worth checking out with a good scintillation potential.

Thanks for your insight! It’s about $13,700 and I’m on the verge of pulling the trigger!

Thanks, blueMA! Argh, making my decision more difficult here, ha.

I love the F/VS1 you posted, but I definitely want to stay below $14K and put that amount towards a nice pave setting (max budget is $15K). Out of the 3 diamonds you listed, I love the second diamond. I think it's a psychological thing, but I can't seem to convince myself to go below F VS1, so basically 1 grade higher than the acceptable color/clarity range - seems like staying around G (sometimes H) and VS2 (sometimes SI1 if it's eye clean) is the consensus to get the best bang for your buck without compromising on quality.

G is pretty safe bet to near colorless range. I also like the second diamond. You can bet that VS? from Whiteflash will be eye clean. They're very helpful so give them a call and have them take comparison pics of a few diamonds side by side for your final decision.

Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate the alternatives shown here and definitely think they’re great diamonds. While the second diamond looks great, those inclusions zoomed in are so visible and I can’t look past it even though it’s probably eye clean.

I think I might end up going with the diamond I listed, as I’m buying from a family friend of ours. She went out of her way to find the diamond above based on the parameters I told her and would like to give her my business.

Any other thoughts on the specs and Idealscope would be greatly appreciated!

If it looks great in person, that's all that matters especially if a future upgrade isn't of a concern.
