Emerald Cut Moissanite

Hello!

I've been following the Tianyu moissanite thread and it's got me thinking. I looked at their emerald cut moissanites and I wonder if others have bought them? Are there other emerald cut moissanite vendors you would recommend? I was just looking at Fire and Brilliance but I'm not sure what to think.

I love emerald cut stones. I did not get one for my engagement ring because the 1.5 carat range I wanted was out of our budget.

A jeweler offered to source me a very small emerald cut stone that I could make into a necklace and wear on my wedding day. This was supposed to be a sweet gift so I could have at least a very small emerald for now. Well... that fell through. Jeweler didn't find one. Weeks before our wedding I was scrounging to find a small solitaire diamond necklace that I could wear on my wedding day. I bought a premade very small round diamond necklace. The diamond sticks out from the back and pokes me. It's itchy and uncomfortable to wear. I don't love it.

I know I should be happy to be married and that I had a lovely wedding. I would love to both be happy and married and to also have a emerald cut stone lol. I wonder if setting an emerald cut moissanite into a ring would bring me joy? I know this seems silly, I have been telling myself that since June but it is how I'm feeling.

I've seen some posts about August vintage emerald stones if you search for that there should be pics and feedback. I don't remember any posts about modern cut emerald moissy though. Interested to see what you find out!

The August Vintage posts have a lot of info you are right! The emerald moissanites are so nice!!

Other than Hulamom, I have only seen one other person get an emerald cut from Tianyu over on WB and she had it set into a French cut band from Julia B. It was beautifully done. I have ordered an Emerald cut from Starsgem, which is another Chinese moissanite vendor, but it is not quite done. The milligrain and hand engraving are getting completed this week and then shipping. I have some pictures on the Starsgem thread. I found a listing for an EC on ebay that I feel in love with so that was my inspiration.

Apparently the August Vintage site is 5% off through Black Friday! Maybe this also applies to their custom cut moissanites? They're expensive for moissy, but wowza that prototype made my heart stop....

I already posted in the Tianyu thread but thought I’d share here too. I’m worried that the traps on my ring are too big. I e included the CAD and a picture of the actual stones before being set. I’m waiting to see the final product. My fear is that I asked for traps that are too large. The first photo is the inspiration photo. But I don’t have dainty fingers and wanted more finger coverage so I asked for larger traps. Now I’m worried. Anyone here have an emerald cut with side stones that can post pictures?

Thanks for sharing your ring photos over here too. Your ring is amazing!! The traps look very similar in proportion to the ones in the inspiration photo. I don't have dainty fingers either so I feel you. Your CAD looks really good. I'm no expert but it does

I found this diamond ring on eBay and used that as inspiration for the stones...the engraving was supposed to match my sapphire ring a bit more but it ended up being shiny instead of matte, which is not my first choice. I would like to darken it a bit more for some contrast and I will have to speak to my jeweler here on how to better get the look. Maybe it will grow on me but the hand engraver refuses to add the contrast because she said I would ruin the ring.

Is it platinum? What's your ring size? Wow wow wow. Would it be virtually impossible for me to get something similar made? I think you said you were having the setting made in Europe? I can't recall.

I have an appt but I just sent a pic to them to show the difference in the engraving. It was supposed to look like the sapphire but I guess everyone has their own style. It is very dark and rainy right now I am waiting for some light to get some better pics.

I can see the difference but I actually love the look. It’s very fresh. Love it so much. Reminds me of an emerald cut ring that’s 5ct+ on here. I’ll try to link later.
