emerald cut help

I've been on this site on and off for years, and have had some gorgeous rings made thanks to the information shared. So i'm hoping I can get some advice on what to look for when buying an emerald cut. I've never actually bought a diamond, so I don't know much, especially about emerald cuts. What I do know is that I want it to be about 2 carats, and sparkle. I think I will set it in yellow gold, so i'm ok with it having some color, but what is too yellow? I'm on a fairly tight budget, what are the most important qualities to focus on? Thanks!
