I ordered this purple-pink sapphire from Yvonne. The color can go from a purple blue to a purple pink depending on the lighting. I really think rose gold would showcase the color best but I have a preloved setting that this fits into perfectly so I am probably going to do that for now (maybe it calls for a reset in the future).

Origin: Sri Lanka (Ceylon)
Portuguese cut

I popped the sapphire into the setting for these pics. Check out those missing prongs.

I took a couple more pics of my purple sapphire ring today. She’s definitely shifty. Sometimes more pink comes out and sometimes more purple.

Wow. That purple is rich and glorious. I haven't yet gone back through the thread for the specs but don't need 'em. Anything from JW is bound to be spectacular. The profile is beautiful. You have the hands to carry off a tall setting. It's those nice long fingers...and the freckles...

I probably should have posted the stats right?!
It’s 2.28ct and 7.72mm. It was part of a new find in Mozambique a couple years ago. Similar to the garnets owned by @Acinom and @NKOTB .

It is a tall setting (though it looks even taller in my close up pics). I must be very careful not to whack it on anything. On the other hand, those details! I forgot I had freckles on my hand until you brought them up. How sad is that?

@chatoyancy yes, it’s from that newer Mozambique find. You can see more of those in the purple garnet thread, if you haven’t already seen it.

@Cockatiel thank you. That’s what drew me to the ring in the first place. So many lovely details.
