I KNOW I should never say never...

But anybody on here NEVER get it? Since I got my ring, I am SOOOOO in love with it and think it's pretty huge. My finger size is a 4.5 and the center stone (in an emilya halo) is 2.04 carats. With the halo, it's about 11 mm of finger coverage. I get a LOT of attention when I'm wearing it and a lot of people have asked me if it's a 3 carat diamond. I just don't think I ever want anything bigger as an e-ring. Now a RIGHT HAND ring? I'd go up to 15 carats!

I thought you were posting that you had it!!! And I was about to smack some purses at you :cheeky: Nice shot of your ring....it truly looks huge on your lil fingers!

You are super dooper lucky that you have small fingers, this helps a lot. If you had fingers that were a much bigger size with the same ring the proportions would not appear the same. I saw a member on here with a larger diamond and she had a size 3.25 finger from memory - everything looked massive on her tiny fingers which is a bonus when it comes to forgoing DSS.

Yes you're very lucky to have such little fingers. I'd have to go much larger to get the same coverage as you. :nono: I agree though, as far as DSS....wait! If you're truly lucky it will skip you, some people even downsize :o but it catches up to most of us at one point or another.

Exactly. I've only had my ring for a year and a bit - and it's gone from looking huge to looking normal. My bank account is desperately hoping it won't go from looking normal to looking small in the next year! :errrr:

I agree that your beautiful ring looks quite large. You will have to let us know if DSS sets in.

This! I have recurring intermittent DSS... some days I'm like, "HOT DAMN! My ring looks big! BUSINESS!!!" and other times it's more like, "Well... if I were to upgrade with the same setting, would DH notice?? Hmmm...." :Up_to_something:

...and your ring looks white, bright, and GINORMOUS!!! I'm so envious!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

I think your ring is fabulous and the perfect size. If you ever think it is too small, you can send it to me!!! ;))

I used to have a 1 ct which was perfect when I bought it but suffered serious DSS after I discovered PS. My clothes have suffered from DSS (or CSS) too. Do you think our pants hang out with our diamonds while we are sleeping and shrink? :wink2:

FINALLY!!! AN EXPLANATION!! ;)

I have a 2.5 in a halo and the only time I got DSS was when I was in Vegas and everyone else's rock was a 5ct+. Otherwise I've been really happy with the size of mine. I don't think DSS is inevitable.

Trust me your stunner held her own! I still wanted to walk around with your and FK's hands to just look at the bling! A girl can dream!

THIS!!!!
LOL!

LOL! Reading your thread tittle and thought you got DDS and looking that boulder on your finger... I was  I read the content at last. Hahaha..... Your VC ring is breathtaking and fantastic finger coverage.
:lickout:
We have the same finger sz and center carat weight BUT it seems like yours have coverage. I got DSS so I downgraded and locked up that baby for the last 4 months perhaps I am fully cured.

It is a perfect size for your finger - great coverage but not over the top.

I too thought you were going to complain about DSS already - thank goodness you haven't lost all your good sense!

Seriously, the ring looks gorgeous on your finger!!

    Sorry for the confusion- I do NOT have DSS and don't imagine EVER having it. I love my new ring sooooo much!!!!

It is sitting on the windowsill in the kitchen and DH just said "That ring just almost blinded me. I'm here minding my own business. I don't need this crap...."

Here's another pic!

So true!!
soxfan, you have a beautiful ring there!! In fact, for the first time ever, you are making me think: 'HALO'.

Because I live in Australia, I think there is a point beyond which an engagement ring should possibly not go.
For example, I have a case of DSS with my 1.6c stone.
However, I don't think I can go much beyond 2c for the e-ring setting! (tiffany-style 6-claw solitaire).
And I'm not at all sure the cost of the upgrade would be worth the teeny increase in size.
But....halo....?

Lara, just jumping in to say that you sound like me! I have an 8 mm OEC that I'd been wearing as a solitaire and really wanted more finger coverage but didn't want to spend that much money for an upgrade - also, I love my diamond...so I haloed it and I am just so happy with the finger coverage! Resetting my stone was a lot cheaper than upgrading lol. The halo really does give the feeling of having a larger stone on my hand. I bet your 1.6 diamond would look amazing in a halo! Just saying!

Soxfan, your ring is truly gorgeous and I'm jealous of your pretty hands! I have indeed suffered from DSS but like you, a halo seems to have cured me.

I agree.
I had my 2.12ct diamond in a solitaire setting, and even though I wouldn't ever upgrade due to sentimental attachment, I did have a fairly severe case of DSS, due largely to lurking on PS....So I cured it by resetting it in a VC Emylia setting. :naughty:

I just love the emilya- not too overwhelming, but gives just enough finger coverage! I really think my stone would have been just so so in a solitaire.

I totally have DSS! I haven't even been married a year and I am thinking about what I want my upgrade to be. My center stone is 3.01 oval.

that oval is AMAZING!!!!!

Same here - I get the 3 carat comment too and my diamond is smaller than yours - 1.5 ct halo on a size 3 finger
People make fun of me and said they didn't know my fiance is a jeweler :-)
Anyways, outside of PS, I rarely see anyone with a bigger diamond than mine (with my job and social circle)
For an e-ring I prefer something more modest myself

(beautiful ring, BTW!!!)

Your ring is so gorgeous! I would imagine it is pretty tough to get DSS with that!

I have had my 1.21 solitaire for just over 3 years and never felt DSS but I suppose I have been distracted with all the RHR planning. The possibilities are endless... :naughty:

Yeah, but I'm obviously from alma's background.... I also feel an e-ring 'should' be 'something more modest'.
Alas in my parts I got sick of my excruciatingly 'modest' ring and got a 1.6c instead! :cheeky:

so now I've got DSS but am reluctant to change out the diamond OR the setting for fear of being too 'flashy' for an e-ring!!
:blackeye: Stupid me.

ETA: Soxfan, let's just swap. Your ring is TDF, ab-sol-ute-ly
