Down to Two!

Hi Everyone,

After much helpful input, I am down to two diamonds. My to-be fiancee's main criteria are eye clean and as much sparkle as possible, she is not color sensitive.

The two diamonds I have found are both in the $8000-9000 price range:

1.9 J/SI2/Excellent

Number one, hands down! Number 2 is an SI2 which is always a bit risky without having it inspected by a trustworthy in house vendor, and number 2 is steep/deep.

Ahhhhh the second one has the kiss of death! "Clarity grade is based on clouds not shown" in an SI2 = hazy cloudy diamond. DO NOT buy #2.

Well, a new contender has entered the arena.

Thoughts on this diamond vs the 1.62 in terms of cut? Is it worth an extra thousand?

No - crown and pavilion angles don't work well with each other - pavilion is too steep.

Run stones you are looking at through the HCA tool under the Tools tab at the top of the forum - you are looking for a score under 2(ish) to indicate a stone that has potential.

Good choice. It was the best of the 3 stones listed. Be sure to post some pictures once you get the stone.
