I’ve been told by every expert (even at Tiffany) that they think it looks like a I to even G color. I know face up does not match the GIA grading color. However, the side profile definitely shows more tint color so it bothers me a bit.

I’m just wondering if the platinum shank can make the face up looks a few degree better in color? Also, does a lower color stone more impacted by the surrounding environment than a whiter counterpart?

I cringe to think if I take a stone off the setting it will look much tinted even face up.:???: I really love the cut of my stone as it has beautiful flash and fire profile so not sure I want to upgrade on the color scale yet. Thank you!

What exactly is your question? Do you want to change your setting? If not what does it matter how it looks outside the setting/loose?

Love your ring and be glad to wear it for you.

@clcat120 I love your ring, and that asscher is TDF beautiful. I think step cuts show body color a bit more and for some reason - in my head - I imagine that color would be more apparent in a platinum setting since it’s so white/steely. I think my Sholdt setting - being unplated white gold with that slight tinge of ‘whellow’ color - actually makes my K-color MRB appear a lot whiter because of the contrast with the metal. I think I’d consider that before I’d go looking to replace that gorgeous diamond of yours. :wavey:

Hello there, thanks for the question. You partially answered my concern. I have plan to reset it, and I’m afraid that I will be somewhat disappointed once the stone comes off the setting as it picked much white time from the platinum setting and the side stones of higher color. Also, the stone really picks up color from the surrounding. It turns pretty tinted in certain lighting. Not sure if a G/H color asscher will have the same issue?!:confused2:

Haha. Thank you. You are more than welcome to try on if you are in NYC. Lol

Gorgeous ring!! As is!! But are you considering changing from platinum to white gold? Or yellow gold?

I love your ring!

It's a beautiful stone. If u are worried about body color then maybe stick with white metal? And side stones the same or slightly lower color.
