Does anyone have real Japanese Kazumi pearls?

FWIW, I have a single Kasumi loose pearl, and comparing it with the two loose Chinese ripple pearls I have ... and noting I do believe the Kasumi to be a fine quality but the Chinese ripples likely only average quality ... my Kasumi is richer in lustre and orient and overtone and its nacre appears thicker. Side by side to me the Kasumi looks like the real thing and the Chinese ripples look like its lesser facsimile copy (in my non-expert opinion).

I'd love to read more evaluations by others who have both Kasumi and Chinese ripples.

Mochiko, those Kasumis are stunning!
Here's my genuine Kasumis vs my Chinese ripples. First, my genuine Kasumi pearls. DSC_0905.JPG

Beautiful pearls, @Mukti!

Do you have a photo of both pairs side by side? Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the similarities and differences between the two.

Mochiko, here's the picture of the pearls side by side.
I only have a pair of genuine Kasumi pearls, therefore I can't comment much but I feel my genuine Kasumis are lighter than my Chinese ripples. Perhaps the nacre of the Kasumi is a lot thicker than the Chinese one. I have the suspicion that my Chinese ripples have bigger nuclei than my Kasumis LOL because of the forms. I think ink I need to x-ray them to confirm =)2. Both are metallic but for me the Japanese Kasumis have some silky satiny quality in the luster while the Chinese ripples are just metallic. Both are lovely in their own way. DSC_0907.JPG

Christmas gifts to myself. Japanese Kasumi bracelet and Edison pearl earrings. The colors are almost identical, but agree with a previous poster that the Edison pearls are more metallic and the Kasumi are silkier. Honestly, both are gorgeous and flash such different colors in various lights.IMG_20171228_055305273.jpgIMG_20171228_055334717.jpg
