Do You Have a Favorite Gold Designer?

I love ippolita bangles. They sometimes can feel a bit flimsy though

I took note of Ippolita jewelry many years ago. I have to confess that I do not remember her bangles, but her style is unique. I am glad you reminded me of her.

Deb :wavey:

I see you were looking at estate pieces again! I had wondered if I was going to be directed to something you found on Betteridge. (If it were Buccellati, it would probably gnaw at me.) Very nice, finished look to the pieces you posted, Sharon.

Here is a very healthy selection of Buccellati at Oakgem and some on Beladora. Deb, I am ALWAYS looking at well made Estate pieces!!

In the "high karat gold" category....

My new ring. My final big jewelry purchase. I have all I need now. I decided to go out with a bang at least. :)

Designer is Valerie Naifeh, who has a master jeweler she works with who executes all her high karat w/granulation designs.

It's an unheated 2.58 carat "violetish-blue" sapphire from Finewater Gems, with a couple of 10-pointers, all in yummy 22K gold with granulation. I do love me my granulation. Mmmm! :) No hand shots because my hands are not worthy, but it's a right hand 3rd finger at size 5.75, and covers that finger entirely.

Enjoy!

That's fabulous!!! You'll love it forever, and it's a wonderful heirloom!

I looked for this thread after the upgrade and found it through the search function. Thank goodness it is still here!

Yes, I agree--thank goodness! :wavey::wavey: I think of your "pretzel" often!!!

I am glad this thread is still here. It is still my "go to" thread on gold. It is a classic and contains lots of great information.

I just got an excellent pre-loved 24k band made by Cevherun. Love the color and heft.

I hope to one day order something from Aaurous on Etsy. They make a lot of 24k/23k/22k items, and their prices seem quite competitive.

Everyday Luxury also does some lovely pieces in higher karat gold. I'm loving her style lately.

New 14k matte rose gold
2mm round band from AAurous. They are very nice to work with and do high-carat too. They sell on Instagram and Etsy (lower prices if you purchase on Instagram). 8C047374-BD57-4646-9B5B-50466FCC3868.jpeg

Two new pieces this month a handmade polki /uncut diamonds necklace set in 22k gold that would be kept aside for occasion wear and a wearable everyday piece- an 18k bracelet that I have been wearing quite often as part of my bracelet stack. I hope it’s okay that I’m reposting here as this thread is more relevant to high karat gold jewelry pieces and I do hope to see some of your lovely gold pieces =)2

Etsy served me this recommendation, and I really like their designs! https://www.etsy.com/shop/OltremareGioielli?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=793914709

Reminds me of Reinstein Ross.

I don't know if I ever knew that everydayluxurynyc website. As soon as I went there I saw a gold ring I would have bought in 22K that was in someone's basket and of which the owner said there was only one. I wear no jewelry, but I wanted it. That's what Pricescope does to me. I'd wear it for a few days...then think why not wear my diamond solitaire instead? This site makes me a crazy woman.

I agree. I need to slow down.

I love her page! Do you have any of her pieces? Everything I've inquired about has been outside my budget's comfort zone. But there was one aquamarine pendant I still regret missing.

I came to see if this thread was still active and I see that a lot of action on gold has moved to other threads in the past few years.

In the early days of Pricecope diamonds were all set in platinum (or white gold) and yellow gold was rarely mentioned except disparagingly. Since I loved yellow gold, I nurtured this thread. If someone mentioned yellow gold, especially if the person posted about high karat gold, I tried to get the poster to post about the jewelry in this thread, which I nicknamed "The Gold Thread".

In recent years people have been posting about "yellow gold bangles" and high karat gold all over Pricescope, so this thread no longer has the unique function it once did of being the place where one could go to find pieces set in yellow gold or pieces of high karat gold.

I wouldn't even know where to begin a search today if I were looking for a bangle of the kind I had made when The Gurhan one I bought turned out to be a dud.

I appreciate it that so many people read and commented on the posting I made here yesterday. It was hardly earth shattering! I had just come from doing a search on "gold bangles" thinking it would lead me to this thread, and instead it led me to a plethora of threads about gorgeous bangles! If I start hanging out on Pricecope again I may end up buying more jewelry that I don't wear! (All I wear is a cheap Timex watch. But I still covet everything.)

HI:

@AGBF SO happy you posted here! I hope this note finds you well.

I inherited a few heavy yellow gold necklaces from my Mom--I guess I could have posted them here. And IMHO, Tiffany's yellow and rose hardware line is da bombe. And if I won the lotto I'd have some!!!! :wavey:

cheers--Sharon

Why didn't you post pictures of it? I don't know if I am even aware of what it looks like? How does one look up "Tiffany's yellow and rose hardware line"?

I haven't worn jewelry in ages, but when I met a fellow Pricescoper a few days ago, I bothered to put on some non-flashy jewelry. I wore my solitaire; a long silver (I think) Elsa Peretti mesh scarf/necklace and matching Elsa Peretti earrings. I hadn't had earrings in for a year and wasn't sure they would go in my ears. They were Elsa Peretti with delicate ear wires, so they did go in and I felt good to be wearing jewelry.

I assume all my Elsa Peretti earrings were from Tiffany's. I know the scarf was.

Here you go Deb @AGBF . Tell me if you like anything!

Thank you so much, Sharon! I have been seeing that bone cuff bracelet in photos in Pricescope threads. I hadn't ever seen it before. It must be a new design. I hardly ever wear even my set of gold bangle bracelets anymore, and it can be broken down to only one bangle if I wish. (Come to think of it, I also have mesh bracelets. I know I have one or more gold mesh. I am unsure if I have any silver or platinum ones).

I like the drama of that bone cuff. I don't know if I would ever wear it. But yes, you grabbed my interest. I will continue to peruse. Thank you!

I'd wear this in a heart beat. And the matching necklace.

I've always loved the bone cuffs. But they are uncomfortable for me to wear. But I have admired them on others.

I adore the Tiffany mesh jewellery. Very cool.

PS I don't know if you recall, but I had a 24K gold ball necklace custom made bc I admired the 18K Tiffany hardware necklace (plain gold balls) . Simple but perfect. My sister has the large gold ball Tiffany hardware bracelet and it is always stunning to see. Alone or stacked oh lalala.

PSS I recall stalking the Cartier Draperie necklace. Then seeing it as an Estate piece on Oakgem. Could KICK myself for not buying it then. Layers of gold spheres was so elegant.

Do you realize that now I am wondering whether I own a silver mesh bracelet that goes with my silver mest Elsa Peretti earrings and scarf/necklace? How sick is this? I put on jewelry for the first time in entire year and now I am back here talking about buying jewelry! That's what I get for meeting with a Pricescoper! In AA they tell alcoholics to stay away from places and people where and with whom they used to hang out while drinking. Maybe my meeting @pearlsngems caused me to have a slip!

Those are enormously sophisticated pieces that you like, Sharon. I can imagine you in them. Didn't you sell most of your jewelry a while back? You can probably buy anything at all that you want. The only question is, what do you really want the most?
(That's not a bad place to be in!)

I don't want the most in terms of quantity--in that regard I have whittled down my collection. But I still have a desire to add items that are chic and wearable. And of course branded!!!! LOL. No, some things never change, Deb!

Your Buccellati Hawaii necklace is such a delight. Wearable summer dream.

PS This was always a fun thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wavey: :kiss2:

I found my Buccellati Hawaii earrings inside a little grey Buccellati bag in the equivalent of a "sock drawer" a few months ago. I don' know what possessed me to be so careless with them. I was wearing jewelry rarely; leaving most of it in a safe deposit box; and I tucked some pieces into a locked file cabinet. But this was a random drawer! I do love the earrings. I think because they are so easy to put in. I struggle with heavy pierced earrings because my ears were not well pierced. The Buccellati short ear wire and clips are great. They just open and snap shut on you; you don't have to struggle into them. :)

And I'm looking at buying more perfume after meeting with you! I sniffed and sampled at Saks, Le Labo, Blue Mercury, Greenwich Pharmacy and Hermès. (Greenwich Pharmaacy carries Fico di Amalfi, by the way.)
Didn't buy anything though.
