Hey all!

Last time I was on the forum, you guys helped me buy a BGD engagement ring and am very thankful....

Now Im 30 days away from getting married and need to find a diamond wedding band.

The engagement ring we got was a solitaire set in a knife edge, 6 prong, platinum band.

We seem to be having a hard time finding a band that sits flush because the prongs are but wide and push the band making a gap.

BGD recommended a band that sits lower and fits under the prong. I dont mind going back bc they had great service and product, but it seems to be very expensive the tcw.

Thoughts?

I don't think that dream band sits particularly low. Are they talking about making a custom one for you? You are getting really close to your wedding date to do that.

A little gap is a good thing because the rings don't rub each other all the way around! Plus it doesn't make them look glued together like one wide ring. I wear a knife edge solitaire and I see no need for a special wedding band to make the rings sit flush. But I do not like wedding bands that sit higher than the shank of the engagement ring at all. In some ways, it might be easier to buy a band locally. I don't know what your budget is, but Tiffany has an excellent selection of wedding bands and theirs sit very low!

Here's a picture of mine:

i agree. theres nothing wrong, in my opinion, with a litte gab between the ring and the w band... you want it to look like you have two rings on, KWIM plus i find, for whatever reason, when your earing two rings though your day, the little gap adds a bit of elegance to your hand. Im weird about hands though, most probably wouldnt even notice

I agree some space is okay, but the price seems off for the tcw and setting at BGD?

Anyone have any success or purchases from a site that they recommend?

Whiteflash made me a 3/4 eternity that sits nice and low. It was done custom and they were fabulous and very quick...but I think 30 days might be pushing it....

The prices of diamonds have gone up and metals too. It depends on who you are comparing it to.

If I were looking for a new band in that style, and price was no object memoire would be my choice. But it will cost more.

1/2 the carat weight, same list price. http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/memoire-jewelry/rings/06YY1/ And Pearlmans may give you a discount of 20% if you say that Pricescope sent you.

I've had great luck with in stock items at Pearlmans. You can call, ask to talk to Julien, and see what he has in stock for you.

http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/search.php?Category=13/ is the link to all their bands. Take a look.

http://www.jamesallen.com/wedding-rings/womens-diamond/platinum-0.47ct-common-prong-diamond-wedding-ring-item-826 I owned this for a while... GORGEOUS diamonds and great quality (I wanted bigger diamonds so I sold it). Not 3/4 way around though.

Wait, when you say 3/4 diamond. Do you mean... Diamonds 3/4 of the way around the shank. Or a band with 3/4 carat weight??? Two different things.

You can also try ID Jewelry. Call Yekutiel. You have to tell him you want PS quality. See what he proposes back. I bought common prong/shared prong hoops from him and they were... breathtaking.

I think you will love the tiny gap in between the ering and wband! It shows a distinction between the two and lets each shine in its own right... after all, you don't get engaged and married at the same time, so it makes sense that they may not "match up" perfectly. But that's just my opinion, because I love a gap! ;))

3/4 as in three quarters of the ring is in diamonds and not a full eternity band.

I like the white flash find, thank you.

I guess i need to see how many pointers she wants on the band, or is the tcw a good gauge?

I need help on trying to figure out how to by a wedding band with diamonds.
