Diamond Shapes used in Halos?

Hi everyone!
I seem to be posting a lot of threads on here so I apologise for the intrusion but I just keep finding more and more things to ask about.

I'm now thinking about a halo setting for my (currently imaginary) engagement ring, to get a bit more finger coverage. I would have a rectangular radiant centre stone and I'd like the halo to mirror the cut cornered look of the diamond.

My question is - what kinds of shapes can be used in the diamonds that make up the halo? I've only ever seen small round ones and I don't think round really fits with the angles of a radiant. Is it possible to get a halo made with another shape?

Rounds can indeed be used to out line a radiant. The halo would follow the outline of the stone (with cut corners).
We've also seen baguettes.

I would use claw prongs so they dont distract as much as the prongs on this ring.

Ignore the halo of rounds in between the radiant and baguettes.

Hmm, I quite like the idea of baguettes (but not mixed with rounds).
Can you get really slim baguettes to make a narrow halo?

Get ready for a custom project. Make sure that whichever jeweler you choose has done this before, and you see examples of the work and are happy with it.

I would get a quote from David Klass. You can send them a picture and tell them the size of your stone (LxW in mm) and they can probably give
you an estimate. I think you are probably talking somewhere in the $2k+ range. Sometimes stones have to be custom cut which could cost you
more. Perhaps @elizat can give you an idea of cost. I'm not sure if she had her setting made or bought it already set though.

I had it made. August Vintage's bench did it and Jon did the cads. And yes, it will end up being over $2k from my setting shopping.

These ended up being custom cut for the halo to my memory.

Your ring is lovely! But, yikes, the setting is outside my budget. Back to the drawing board I guess...
