I just love this view
The view you would see all day looking down your handScreenshot_20200407-224952.png

I firmly believe that the side view is for the wearer and no one else gets to enjoy it unless you decide to show them :)

For a durable CS, it would need to be a Sapphire, Ruby or Spinel.

Personally, I would go for something pink or pink-red, like a neon pink Sapphire.

However, colour is very personal, so good luck in finding a CS to your liking.

DK :))

Thank you for your input, DK! I’m going to post some colour pics today... we shall see!

@pearaffair -

Yes! Please do give me the Stuller number - I love that setting!

And - I had a 3 stone with the exact proportions of what yours would look like it you did .5/.89/.5 I LOVED it and it was my favorite proportions ever and I plan to recreate it at some point. Here's a photo - I hope this helps! (Seriously - how good is PS?? Because - what are the odds??)

This is a photo of a photo of a photo - so a tad blurry. But you get the general idea. The ring is on a size 7 finger, so yours would look considerably larger, @pearaffair. The specs are .46 / .83 / .47.sIMG_2502-e.jpg

Omg what are the odds?? This looks incredible on you... but for some reason I just can’t seem to make the leap to three stone. Buying a second sidestone.... ehh. Not sure I want to gamble that much money on the off chance I like it! Or not! Hmm. I worry too much about tables and angles matching, colour matching, and maybe I won’t even like it because it’s too classic and I’m too “out there” with my style... so fun to analyze, but confusing, too!

This is the stuller setting:

It’s beautiful :)

Your stuller three stone is beautiful. They make some nice settings. Here is mine20200407_104852.jpg

Oh!!!! I have looked at this setting so many times! So thrilled to see it in real life! Thank you so much for the pictures- can you direct us to a thread on it?

Ha! I remember important things ;-) Ok, I actually like the proportions a lot. If it were me, I’d get another 0.5ct D/E diamond and enjoy them all together. I would personally set the side stones a bit lower than the center and at a slight angle and it would be dreamy imo. I also think that a 3 stone will cure DSS for a bit. But it’s your ring, so you have to be sold on the idea!

Hehe I like the way your brain works ;)
Man I need to go try on some three stones! Let me just wait for the world to calm down a bit...

Gives me a chance to enjoy the things I own just as they are for a while.

Soooo do you guys like pics? A little bit or a lot? Well I’ve got some! I won’t tell you what I’m leaning towards- I’ll let the peanut gallery chime in first :D

First up, I tried so hard to take a pic that would show the colours of the diamonds. Impossible! (For me). So I’ll just tell you: I’m guessing the pears are a G and they should not go with the E round.

Sapphire...will be regal.

Sapphire...will be regal.

Can you tell me about the ring in your avatar?

Sapphire is classy and timeless. Regal, as you say. But I don’t know... more pics to come! I had to stop because my phone died haha

Purple sapphire and green tourmaline. Nice Easter colours!

Imitation blue topaz, and the purple sapphire and green tourmaline.

The 0.89ct E next to two half carats, and then in the other pic it is next to an around 1.5ct cz... I think if I ever did a three stone, it would need a massive centre stone! And then I would never wear it in real life, because in my small city anything over half a carat is noticeable and I don’t like to stand out in a wealth/luxury spending kind of way.

I think I will eventually start a new thread soliciting opinions on what kind of jazzy band I should put with my solitaire.

Here are some bands I’ve tried:5214CE39-AB49-4F62-96CA-0199069EB78C.jpegE25E7C9B-94D1-4FCB-A05C-89595AF33F78.jpeg
I’m considering pairing it with a yellow gold rolling ring. I like mixed metals and I love rolling rings.

ok whew those are all my pics for now! Enjoy! Let me know what you think- anything that is pricescope-approved always turns out great!

Thank you so much :) it is 1.06 g vs2 , 3ex 20200407_194013.jpg20200130_012732.jpgfinger size 4.75. Not a great photographer:) I don't have a thread

Wow it looks gorgeous on you and I really appreciate the extra info!!! You could definitely create a SMTB thread if you wanted to...

Thank you @pearaffair . Very kind :) I was actually thinking of going the three stone ring route. That is what drew me to your post. Your e ring is beautiful. Can't wait to see what you do with the three stone!!

Ooooh!!! But what setting would you use? :)

@mrs-b this is the setting that I fell in love with years ago (link includes a nice video)three stone.jpg:https://www.mapleleafdiamonds.com/collections/918/R3342.WG..1?category=9,21&shape=18,130

Pictures don't capture it, it was just so perfect! I had no money back then though haha. Like NONE.

Your stuller setting is very pretty and I enjoyed seeing pictures of all the options!
Based on these pics, my first choice is the blue topaz, and second choice is the green tourmaline.
I like those two the best with the color of the metal, tint in the diamonds and your skin tone all combined.

Thank you, everyone! My current plan is to source a bright pink sapphire. I’ll post pics when it’s done! Could be a while because I’m home bound... but always nice to have something to look forward to :)

Sounds fun!

The purple sapphire looks so good & this is my 'spring color',

thinking out loud

Well I’ve been still undecided about this centre stone!

I’m also halfway into a year-long bling ban, so I haven’t made any purchases yet but I want to be ready to do so as soon as 2021 rolls around.

I ended up setting a moissanite that I already owned into the setting. Just to see how it would look and if I should buy a diamond for it. But I think it looks pretty bad! It definitely needs a coloured stone! When my new felt markers arrived I’ll do some more colouring, but these are the pics I took for now.47B36135-EADE-46CA-A641-000272F0A29D.jpeg3758F3E9-36EA-402C-B492-139ACFB9339A.jpeg737D6E2B-53CC-4535-B395-C9F844A5F354.jpeg52FBF4FE-9898-46FB-A27D-797C4133B9A5.jpegAB3C945B-034F-4A12-9C6B-9847879F6A52.jpeg101F538C-86B6-424F-81F3-00102AE524F1.jpeg

These are some colours I’m considering. (@DorotheaBrooke ans @mrs-b I hope you don’t mind me using your pics). Thoughts?

I think the dark pink sapphire that you posted on the first page looks amazing and would suit a wardrobe of jewel tones well. The blue sapphire is also beautiful with the setting.

Being separated from your husband must have been so difficult. I hope you are all doing well!

Aww thank you :)
It was hard when there was so much uncertainty! It has been better days now.

Hmm I am in the same train of thought - blue or pink sapphire for the win!! I keep changing my mind.
