Diamond foggy at specific angle, normal?

Hi,
Just bought a diamond online - first diamond purchase for me and just a little stressed.

Not really an expert, however I notice that at some specific angle (between 50 to 60 degrees), the diamond doesn't shine at all and most of the surface becomes foggy.
The diamond is a cushion cut, 2 carats, G, VS1, 67%-57%.

Is this something I need to be concerned with?

Thanks

It also says medium fluorescence in the GIA report.

Sorry, seems this might be due to the fact that there's lots of mirrors in the room I am in. :))
Will check in the sunlight tomorrow.

Did you buy blind or are there any pictures?

If you are zero, and 90 degrees means you are looking at the side view, 50-60 degrees is beyond the normal viewing range and I wouldn't expect to be seeing a lot of brightness. Try cleaning it, it shouldn't look foggy at any angle. I don't see what mirrors has to do with it looking foggy.

yes, foggy is not the correct term.
It just looks matt as in the first picture below at some specific angles but all seems good otherwise.

Tbh, not really sure how a normal diamond looks like/behaves 8)

Um is that a cushion? Did you get an ASET image before buying that stone?

yes I did, looked good

If you are referring to that very bright area on the lower left side of the table that is just normal glare.
The table not being clean may make the glare have a grainy or foggy look.

If this is your concern you can rest assured nothing is wrong.
All diamonds do that.

Yes, looking at that area in purple that is not shiny/sparkling at specific angles.

Ok it's called "glare" and seems completely normal.

After a search here, seems like a few people asked the same question and Kenny you're always there to respond - thanks for taking the time in any case!!! :))

I searched for this with the wrong keywords (foggy, not sparkling, etc.) so didn't really help. Thanks a lot all

That is a pretty big table. Post the video and aset photo.

Looks pretty good.

OK then, it sounds like Kenny solved it.

Enjoy your diamond!

Thank you so much guys
Will post review once I propose tomorrow :)

Here are the picture and aset. Would love your feedback.

I don't think that's the same stone. The link you posted has s pretty small (nice size)
Table. Yours has a pretty large table. The faceting pattern doesn't look the same to
me either. Get some more opinions here and if others do not think it looks the same
you need to contact b2c jewels. My eyes aren't as young as they use to be but
it just looks different to me.

^^^agree. Those look like two different stones to me.

agreed - no way that looks like the same stone!

I think OP is just posting pictures of another stone as an example to illustrate table glare. The b2c stone looks good! :appl:

I don't think it is the same stone either. The facet placement, the table size and everything else does not match up. The OP wrote that the link is to the stone's original posting (ASET and picture), not an example but the actual stone.

ETA
I get it now. The pictures of the cushion with the glare and purple outline is the example picture.

Correct thbmok

Just took some example on James Allen to illustrate the glare I was seeing.
Diamonds look very different in the light of a jewellery shop and this is really the first diamond I paid attention to.

Thanks a lot all

the stone looks beautiful. PLEASE please do come back with shots after the proposal!
