Hi All,
I've recently ordered a round cut diamond through my local jeweler for an engagement ring, opting for quality over size (as my partner is petite but internally flawless
). I spend quite a bit of time looking for one with good proportions (within my budget), and thought I had found a good one. However I'm beginning to second guess my choice as I've been reading that depths over 61% are "off-cut" diamonds(?), and that tables over 57% are non-ideal... I haven't seen the actual diamond yet.. The proportions gave a HCA score of 1.4. What do you guys think of the diamond for the price, and does anyone have a similar diamond that they can share their experience with? This is the first time I'm buying a diamond.
GIA Cert - Round Brilliant - Certified 30/10/2013
0.74ct
Internally Flawless
Colour F
Cut Excellent
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Excellent
Fluoro: none.
Depth 61.3%
Table 58%
Crown Angle: 34.5 degrees
Pavilion Angle: 40.8 degrees
Cutlet: none
Pavilion Half Length: 75%
Crown Half Length: 50%
Price: $4150 ex tax.
Also, these proportions "fit" into what is required for Hearts and Arrows symetry, but without seeing the diamond, it is possible to tell whether or not this will be the case?
Thank you in advance for any advice
