Decagonal Modified Brilliant

Hello all,
I’m considering a pre owned ring. I’ve not come across this particular cut before but am intrigued. From the limited information I’ve found - the cut doesn’t seem to be optimal. However, it’s rated as 3 X by the the good ol’ GIA.

The 68% depth seems excessive (it would be for a standard round!). Are you sure about that measurement? It would help to post the GIA report. You also may want to search for other decagons and see if the dimensions are in line with this specialty cut.

That's really interesting. I'm not familiar with Meteor cut.

Please note, this is not a "triple Ex". GIA reports only provide an overall cut grade for standard round brilliants. They do however offer AGS Ideal addendum reports for qualifying diamonds, since they own and now deploy AGS light performance cut grading technology. AGS worked out the grading for a number of proprietary cuts, but I am not sure Meteor is among them. You might inquire with GIA.
