Sounds like a fun project gypsy! i have had cakelady's hand pic saved on my computer for awhile so i attached it here for you for easy reference. The bethany ring i attached above actually was made by Kristen Farrell, a NYC based jewelry designer. It definitely is really close to the aria though! What sized stones were you thinking for your smaller stones? I think for some reason that didn't come thru in your above post. Will you just have Lesley hold your thirty pointers for you till it is time to make the ring or how does that work? I think it is such a great idea to buy them one at a time! This way it won't be sooo much money all at once! Did you decide on a RHR or LHR? What size finger are you?

You are absolutely right. I forgot to mention the melee size. 8 pointers are the projected size, to be decided on later on if we need to go smaller or larger.

Ahh, I've never heard of Kristen Farrel. WIll have to see if she has a website. Cool.

Thanks for the pic of Cakelady's band. So beautiful. I can't wait.

My LH is a 6 plus or minus .25 depending on the size of the band. My right hand is a 7.5. So it's a big difference and I won't be able to swap them with ease. Truth is I adore the Dana, and think it works best as a RHR so... in anticipation that I *might* eventually get the Dana... I'm getting the Garland made for my left hand.

My engagement set is beautiful and I love it, but a halo just isn't the most practical everyday ring. So I want a standalone band for my left hand.

I hear you gypsy. It will be nice to have the option of wearing it on days when you just want the band vs the wedding set. Do you know what size stones were used in cakelady's band? When i looked at BN awhile back, i couldn't tell what sized stones they used from the description. It just had total carat weight. I wasn't sure of the proportion that was used. If you use 8 pointers, those 30 pointers will really pop for sure!

I actually just sent BGD an email about the stone sizes. Poor Brian and Lesley... they are so patient.

I don't know the point size of cake lady's. I do know the total carat weight on the half eternity one I like and when I divided that out, I came up with .30s are the likely size for the big stones. But I just asked Brian for his opinion.

I'm wondering if I want to do the half eternity with five 30 pointers and eight 8 pointers. Or if I want to go with four .30 pointers and ten 8 pointers. That's what I asked him. And I asked him if .30s are the right size or if they are too big. I love that I know he'll just give me his honest opinion.

Kristen Farrel has some unique pieces man. She's like a Goth Leon. Fascinating. LOL. I'm surprised she made something as tame as that wedding band.

Yeah, I have a hard time telling the stone size as well. This is a link to a thread I had started awhile back asking the question regarding bethany's ring and Oldminer thought she was using .4 or .5's as the larger stones and .2 or .25's as the smaller stones. See what Brian says first. You're right. He'll tell you what he thinks would be best! You might be able to pull off .25's and .10's. Sizewise, do you want it like the BN one or do you want it larger?

Kristen Farrell's stuff is definitely goth for sure. I was surprised too! Do you watch RHONY? Bethany has gotten a lot of pieces from her. Her heart diamond necklace (definitely not what I'd think that kristen would do!), her engagement ring (basic pear with traps), and some diamond bangles. All pretty tame compared to her other stuff!

Gypsy, if my memory serves me right...did you ever end up getting a tennis bracelet or BGD bangle? I though I remembered you were considering it for some time. I ended up with the 1.5ctw bangle and love it!

Dana band!

Yeah, I'm not sure what the ctw on hers is, but I suspect those are .40's... but I would say the smaller stones are .15 pointers. That's what I was thinking of doing ideally, but it was A LOT more expensive. Nope, I don't watch RHNJ, my husband is from NJ so anything that stereotypes NJ in a bad way sets his temper to broil and that show in particular gets on his very last nerve. And I have a VERY laid back husband normally.

No, I didn't end up getting the bangle. Lesley knew I was hesitating so she sent me one 1 ctw. they happened to have around (never happens, but hey I got lucky) and I was laid off that week-- but I had decided against it. SO... no bling. And the bling budget went to savings for a rainy day. That's why I have a much larger budget than I normally would for this project-- because we're rolling over the funds I got from selling my gold a few months back. Hence, the platinum and the FG color.

I'm glad you love your bangle! I think I'm a tennis bracelet girl though, and high carat weight at that. So, that's reserved for hubby to surprise me for a wedding anniversary in the future. Something to look forward to.

HI BEG!

Hiya Gypsy! I can't wait to see what you choose!

I love Bethenny Frenkel's wedding band and so I'm biased towards the garland inspired band! Keep us posted! A garland inspired band by BGD would be amaaaaaaazing I'm sure!!

You know Gypsy, I have been following your threads on this journey with such interest... I have a burning itch for something blingy on my finger as well and you have such wonderful taste! There are so many options! I'm thrilled for you that you have narrowed it down - it's a wonderful choice! The first time I saw the garland posted on smtr I drooled a little lol It's on my options list as well along with at least 5 others. It's so hard to choose! I'm really excited for you!

Hi Gypsy! :wavey: What did Brian say regarding stone size?

Oh Gypsy - they are both so gorgeous! I've got a garland band on my short list as well. It's just such a nice concentrated bit of BLING. I can't wait to see the end product - and that Dana ring is TO DIE FOR as well. Drooool.
