So finally have the center stone, the side stones and I know what the top view should be, but now waffling on the side view and need your thoughts! The setting will be 8 prongs for each stone oriented to look octagonal shape (a bit elongated for the center cushion sapphire) and the arches in the gallery are planned to swoop out a bit further than typical so that they are visible from the top helping to lend the stones that octagonal shape. Top view will be similar to CvB Elsa but with 8 prongs and oriented like an octagon.

Now to the question mark - I have waffling between 3 options for the gallery view and really cant decide. Additionally wondering if there are any other alternatives that you can think of? Basically I want to ensure that the stones get plenty of light from the sides

Option 1: (Based on David Klass studs that were probably originally based on Erica Winters Margot setting) + I would want to have the arches merge a bit more with the struts (similar to the ring below)

Option 2 is based on these other studs by DK

Option 3 is a classical setting, currently have a 5 stone with it and love it

Photos of my stones in the next post :)

Onto the photos of my stones (apologies for the quality of photos, Im terrible at it and I only had an evening / morning with no sun to take photos before sending off to David

Center stone - Sapphire 2.68 carats measuring 7.87 x 7.28mm, it's precision cut recieving a complete overhaul by Dan Stair. Its so hard to describe colours so added quite a few photos below, its a medium blue with a little bit of violet indoors

Side stones are two OEC estimated at G/H VS measuring
Stone 1 (5.38mm x 5.25/ 3.44) 0.61ct
Stone 2 (5.41mm x 5.38/ 3.69) 0.69ct
Forgot to take good photos comparing them but I feel like the face up is sufficiently similar? Cuts are very close both with small tables and medium culets and similar patterns

Onto photos - evening pic with normal hallway lamp

And onto my favorite colour (the one I was originally looking for haha), it rarely shows up this much periwinkle but when it does oh boy

I prefer option 1. It is elegant but still lets a fair amount of light in. Option 2 knocks too much light out unless you want to go with setting the
stones higher. It is still pretty heavy IMO. Just dont care for option 3.

Beautiful stones! That blue is amazing! Did I miss what color of metal you are using?

Option 1.
That sapphire is gorgeous! I love the pale blue color and paired with 2 OECs will absolutely be a knockout!

Option 1 and this willl be such a stunning ring!

Agree with the above posters...option 1 all the way! Can't wait to see this finished!

Definitely Option 1. Your sapphire is gorgeous and your ring will be lovely.

Thank you tyty333, bluaMA, foxinsox, ksage92, and tlfiore! - Looks like it's pretty unanimous  Option 1 is also the one I was leaning towards but was having the last minute doubts. I want the ring to be special so doubting myself more than usual

I've been waffling a bit on the metal, currently leaning towards 14 or 18kt white gold, but have also considered doing the shank in rose gold. My normal preference is white or rose gold. Of course now that I have to make a choice I've been thinking if I should do platinum since it will be a fairly delicate setting; however, I think it would drive me nuts as I don't like the patina and am very colour sensitive so may not like it compared to my other jewlery

I love the color of your sapphire!!! I like the option w the OECs

She's asking which setting option people like for the ring she is making with the sapphire as the center stone and the two OEC's as side stones.

I like the first option and then the second option. Beautiful stones!

That sapphire is amazing! This will be so so beautiful, I'm envious!

No helpful advice here but wanted to say I love the color of your stone so much...whatever you choose will be stunning :kiss2:

Another vote for option 1! It’ll be a beautiful ring.
