#JOTW David Klass reset - my perfectly imperfect pear

I pulled my 2.6 carat pear out of a yellow gold bezel and worked with David (who was great) to create this new home for her. It’s platinum, tri-wire with two French cut side stones.

The stone is pretty narrow, with the ratio to show and she’s a bit on the shallow side. So she faces up like a 3 carat stone. Thinking she will arrive Monday.

Here is the setting she came out of. She’s been in it for about 8 years the stone is cut well for its ago and a VS clarity but has some real tint & color. Before this gold setting she was in a classic 5 platinum prong setting but the bezel on this stone is extremely whisper thin - so I put her in the gold bezel to better protect the girdle. That was my first custom project and I was happy with the work but I’ve learned a lot in the intervening years.

But I came to the conclusion that given her tint, she looks better in all platinum.

I’m sorry but what tint? I genuinely can’t see any overt tint, maybe a small impression of warmth? in the new setting. In the old setting, it looks like a light yellow! How amazing.
