I don't think she is a PSer. I don't know how long it'll take to find a rough to cut a 3ct. Depending on the price I may wanna keep it under 3ct.

You should have talked to him before selling your diamond. This topic has come up before regarding the lack of stones in the high end of a carat range due to the fact that if rough is big enough to cut a 3 ct stone, no cutter is going to cut a 2.8 or 2.9 out of that rough. So be prepared for 3 cts or if the rough won't yield 3 cts, you might be looking at the mid 2 ct range.

Yes I know that, but hopefully I'll get lucky that Yoram will be able to find a rough that will yield in that range. Maybe he can re-modify a generic Asscher into an Octavia?...

Due to its unique and awesome shape *grin* it can not be cut from other asschers.
But you never know what rough is lurking in Yoram's vault.

I think that any way you slice it DF needed to sell the Octavia to have the $$$ to put towards his next project. Even if this doesn't go forward, he's not losing having $$$ liquid to spend freely.
