Damaged stone too much of a risk?

I have a love for old cut stones and have been wanting a pendant for some time, however, I'm limited in terms of budget. I came across this charming, .88 OEC on JbEG's page. The stone is damaged and uncerted. The uncerted is no problem because I would never seek to resell it. I'm worried about the damage. I'm not exactly knowledgeable in this. I would set in a bezel pendant. Do you think it would work? Or is it too much of a stretch? If so, vendor suggestions for setting? Here is the link to the stone. Any and all input is appreciated!

edit* it's the first stone listed on her newsletter!

I think it would be fine but you should email JbEG to ask them - they are so perfectly nice and have answered all my questions about things even though I have yet to buy anything from them.

JbEG notes that it would be good for a bezel pendant. Does anyone have a suggestion for a vendor who could create the pendant?

I would think the main factor is how much you want to spend. I'm sure JbEG could do it, but I have no idea what their prices are like.

I emailed them about it! Hopefully I'll hear back soon =)

I'm pretty sure that stone has been sold. I emailed them about it like an hour after I received their newsletter and it had already been promised to another buyer.

Oh darn. I guess my search continues then.

If it is still available, I recommend talking to Wink at http://www.highperformancediamonds.com/.. I'm sure that other jewelers could handle it, but Wink has set a lot of cz and other sim stones and may have some creative ideas that have the appearance of a bezel but don't stress the stone.
