Custom FDL key pendant - Julia from Etsy.

Hey folks!

Following on from the etsy thread, I thought I would start one
on my newly completed key pendant, as many folks have shown
interest in these.

I know I''ve said this before, but I cannot heap enough praise
on Julia Kay Taylor and her great talent.
From the start of our contact she has been warm, friendly, generous
and - most importantly - delivered stunning items beyond my expectations.
I am positive that I will be working with her again in future.

Okay, enough yap from me, onto the goods!

So, a custom designed, sterling silver key pendant, inspired loosely on a Fleur de Lis. It was entirely hand made by Julia, and as per her idea, we set a cute diamond accent in the bail - a very lovely touch.
It has a flat cable chain, with 3 rings at different junctions, so the key can be worn
at all different lengths depending on outfit/neckline etc (my idea

).

Yes, this was "inspired" by the new Tiff''s key collection, but I can say without a doubt I''d rather have a custom-designed, handmade version anyday (and save bucketloads of $$, lol!).
If anyone has been eyeing these style pendants off, I would highly recommend asking Julia for a quote - it came in very reasonable.

..and last one for now - a nice view of the cute diamond in
the bail. Julia said she thought this "set the pendant off" just right, and seeing
the pics I agree and am very glad I went with it.

This key is my b''day gift from Fi, and I know I will love it and get
heaps of wear out of it.
It won''t arrive in time for my B''day, but I promise real life and neck
shots when it does!

I''m glad you like it, a sapphire would be gorgeous. Just so you know,
she can create whatever design you like in the "head" of the key and a number
of folks have been integrating initials and the like - endless choices, and I''ll
likely get another one before too long, ha

I don''t believe I''ve seen a phone number for Julia - usually everything (at least for me),
is just done via messages/email through Etsy.

However, if you message her I''m sure she''d be more than happy to converse via phone
if that suits you better. You can send her a "convo" through her Etsy store,

It might even be better to do it via her official website and emails, no etsy fee But that's just my guess, I don't know which she prefers.

And your welcome AJ! One of the joys of my life is to share talented artists I've met, whether their medium is jewelery or oil paints! And of course, the more I share info on talented jewelers, the more awesome eye candy I get to see, so thank YOU for posting pics of your wonderful projects!

I already convoed Julia for a quote on that pendant, and how much the chain was, I need a chain for the spinel pendant she made me, and that adjustable silver one looks like just the ticket!

MTG, I agree - one of my (main) motivations too, lol

And Julia''s chains are *cheap*..as in, just as great quality but without the crazy markup!
Put it this way - at Tiff''s, I wouldn''t have even got the chain for what I paid for the whole lot

EMP & QueenB, I''m pretty sure the chain is 22", with adjustable lengths at 20" and 18".
Julia said she would make this chain standard now, as many others liked the idea.
EMP, I''m keen to see yours too!

Hi Musey - that is odd. Some of the sellers that were originally popular, I also got very slow responses (or no responses) from - so I just moved on.
But folks like Sally and Julia are always lightening quick with convo''s.
Do you mind if I ask what it is you''re after/from whom? If it''s Julia, I know she''s been pretty swamped since she started getting coverage on PS ..

AJ, your key is beautiful! I am on Julia''s sketch list using my and DH''s initials. I cannot wait! We both have sapphires and diamonds in our wedding band so I may ask her what it would be to possibly put one of each on the body or the bottom of the key.

I love the idea of the chain that I can wear at 3 different lengths.

I really like the idea of adding both a small sapph and diamond. I''m not
sure what your design will be like, but you could put a sapph on one "side" and
a diamond on the other one, so you could turn it over and show which one
you feel like/suits your outfit etc? I think that would be fun!
