Hi everyone!

It's my first post on PS. :)

I am deciding what I want for my e-ring. Right now it's between:

A)1.6-1.7 cushion, SI1, G colour
B)1.5 cushion, VS2, G colour
C) 1.2 round, VS1,G colour

I am thinking of either getting the Tiffany Soleste/Legacy setting or Tacori RD 2620 setting.

Any thoughts?

We will need a little more info from you other than size, color and clarity. Picking a fancy shape diamond (cushions) can be difficult without pictures, an ideal scope and ASET images. Also nice to have the grading report.

Do you like a square or rectangle cushion? What kind of faceting do you like? I suggest you check out the knowledge center webpage/video for information about cushions:

To answer your question about shape, I think you should decide what shape you prefer and then focus on that. Round diamonds are the most popular, more inventory and I think you pay a premium with this cut. But, you will also get more spread for the size (the reason why you can pick a 1.2 round versus a 1.5 cushion). Rounds are classic and I think this kind of stone would fit a solitaire style setting.

Cushions are unique. I love the look of an antique-style cushion, which would look perfect in the Tacori 2620. But, so would a round brilliant. This setting has a more vintage look. So, in the end, it is what you are DRAWN to...I would decide what shape you LOVE and then focus your energy finding the perfect stone for you.

They are both very popular cuts. I think the answer will really have to come from you. I like that rounds are very classic and timeless, and I think that every girl should have one in her jewelry collection. Cushions, especially chunky old cut cushions, are very romantic to me and also a timeless cut, however I think it's a lot harder to find a really great one. There are different flavors of cushions as well, some are crushed iced, the modern old cuts have chunkier faceting, and of course there are the true antique cushion cuts hold a whole lot of mystique and romance, and wonder.....obviously I prefer these.  I think that rounds are easier to shop for if your are doing your shopping online, there are several tools that you can use to help navigate your way through to a short list of potential candidates and GIA and AGS have established cut grades for them, which also aids in narrowing your choices. Both cuts will look fantastic in the Soleste or 2620. Have you checked out Engagement RIngs Direct? They do a really great version of the Soleste and they also have a branded modern antique cushion that is gorgeous!
